Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Leeds United 2 Swansea City 2 | Att: 35,574 (784 Away) | The EFL Championship

No, I'd give it a 5 maximum, if you're going to place it, you've got to give it enough power to beat the keeper even if he guesses correctly. Funnily enough, I was pretty sure he wouldn't score even as he was placing the ball on the spot. He didn't look confident. But I still want to know why he took it, not our so called striker and top scorer Cullen. Who made the decision?
On a positive note, since the departure of the garden gnome, we are suddenly putting in some very dangerous free kicks from out wide, Tymon being the best at it, but Eom and O'Brien too. Keep it up, lads.
Always smash seven shades of shit out of it down the middle. If the keeper doesn’t dive, and they always do these days, hit him in with it.

Reminds me of a Desperate Dan cartoon strip from when I was a kid :D

Sheehan is still not the man for next season for me, but, his tactical reading for individual games does impress me enough to say he would be an excellent number 2 if wanted.

We need to shit or get off the pot with Sheehan.

This is the second time he's come in now and got more of a tune out of a pretty average bunch of players.

If we aren't going to give him the job this time - and I'm not saying we should by the way - then we need to shake his hand and say thanks and bye. It's not fair on him to mess him around again, and it's certainly not fair imposing him as a #2 under a new manager because whoever it is needs his own people around him, not a bloke who will probably be a little resentful.

Either appoint him in summer, or let him go.

When I saw the team yesterday I thought he was an idiot…after a minute more so. Then the way we played, the grit , the resilience and the lack of any fear with some forward looking play, and the obvious togetherness on pitch and bench, I did start wondering about ‘the devil you know’. Half a dozen games or so to see how it goes.

Same thoughts as yourself.

it also highlights how shit Williams was, is.

When I saw the team pre-game, I thought it was "park the bus" time. I couldn't have been more wrong, and if Fark had anything about him, he'd have said a draw was a fair result.

A text book pen is when it's in the corner a with power and 5ft flight path..no keeper saves them. Anything hit on the ground requires more accuracy and hidden body technique. Looking at Tymons body position on his run up he was always going for that corner and the French hologram picked it.

Maybe more concerning and needs improving is our defensive awareness..the first Leeds goal could have been prevented.

Their second goal have Tanarka a completely free header, decent save from Vig out to Gnonto where Ronald was on his heels on the rebound marking him while we have 4 players in the box marking nobody.

Piroe volley from 8 yards out completely unmarked bizarrely luckily straight at Vigs.

Saying that we did a lot of good things across the team which earned us a deserved point.

No way would we have got anything under LW and Grimes and credit to Sheehan for his game management

That might be a disservice to Piroe, he does have excellent movement to lose his markers
He did it week in week out for us for two seasons after all

Well we should know better than any other team then.. considering also we had 3 DM's and 3 CB's on the pitch..

We remain a very flawed team with tons of improvement required personnel-wise, but the biggest sea change to our side in years has taken place this last 2 months or so, since Grimes went and Williams was sacked.

Our midfield has gone from dysfunctional to functional and competent, almost overnight. If that sounds like damning them with faint praise, it's not. It's just a fact.

None of it has been particularly complicated either. It's just been asking players to do the basics for the sake of the team. You know, like running about a bit, trying to win the ball and getting it to the forwards quicker, instead of playing for themselves and stat padding their own figures self indulgently.

As I say - tons of work to do, but at least for the first time in years it actually feels like we have a base to build from, instead of the wanky nonsense we've had to endure under Martin and Williams.

His goal at Derby was a superb strike, but it wasn't a volley.
I agree. For me a volley is like hitting a full-toss in cricket, or an, er, volley in tennis, and a half-volley is like a drop kick in rugby. People will argue his Derby goal was a volley though because it was off the ground when he hit it. Not for me.

Sheehan is still not the man for next season for me, but, his tactical reading for individual games does impress me enough to say he would be an excellent number 2 if wanted. Bang on relentless high press put Dirty Leeds under pressure they couldn't cope with. Having Delcroix on the left with Tymon further forward to minimise James was spot on. As was taking him off before he got sent off. The mix of short and long passing works well and, unless there is no option, we never seem to go backwards (Franco excepted, played well, just still got a touch of the Luke about him).
No bad performances from us. Numerous from Leeds but because of how we set up. Apart from their keeper lol.
I sensed a rout after 36 seconds. And when Gnonto scored it felt worse than a rout. But , just well done all round. Superb. Just GOTTA follow it up with a victory at home next.
He's done Ok has Sheehan this far but he certainly has an opportunity to show his worth.
If he does well and let's say gets us to let's say 57 plus points then he would be considered seriously for a longer term as manager.

That's not me saying I think he should get it even under those circumstances but it would make the argument an harder one to say he doesn't deserve it long term.

Haaland's penalty just now was much worse than Tymon's
