• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Any figures on attacks by the people you speak of?
Isn't prevention better than cause?

Housing transgender women convicted of raping women in a women's prison can only be a sensible thing.

So because of one extremely poor decision, all other genuine trans people must now suffer?

They’ve taken a sledgehammer to crack a nut. These are human beings at the end of the day, just like you or I.

It is not as simple as that and you very well know it.

Which is exactly my point.

They’ve given an absolute ruling on something which is not black and white. And thousands of humans are going to suffer because of it.

Didn’t ask for the examples, but thanks for participating anyway.

To say thousands are going to suffer is a tad dramatic.

The point is the tone of the debate.

I have a lot of sympathy with women who are happy. But we should not mock people who are different.

My position on this will probably surprise many.

And it’s changed a lot over the past few years.

I’ve known transwomen for years. All my adult life. With zero problems.

But I welcome the ruling this week.

Genuine transwomen have been drowned out by a bunch of aggressive misogynistic men who have realised that they can put on a bit of nail varnish, declare themselves ‘trans’ or ‘non binary’ and bully women.

It is too easy with self ID for a man who would do harm to women to enter protected female spaces. Spaces that were established in the first place to counter the ever increasing threat of violence against women and girls. Unfortunately, there is no way for a woman to establish whether a male in a protected space is genuinely trans, or is there to do them harm.

I agree with your point that thousands will suffer. The issue is that millions of women suffering is the alternative. I hate the fact that this puts me in the same side as bigots and the small minded. I hate that it puts me on the same side as those who are homophobes.

I hate the tone of this thread. But I also hate the underlying misogyny and homophobia that lies behind a significant amount of the political trans movement. People who prefer to label their kids or themselves as ‘in the wrong body’ rather than understand that they are gay or do not conform to gender norms.

Individuals should be treated with respect. I will use the pronouns that they ask of me. I will not mock them or denigrate them in any way.

But a protected female space must mean just that.

As ever an excellent post and carries more weight.

The issue here is dare I use the term “woke overreach” you can moderately change things for the better and bring people with you.

The issue here is the reckless Scottish government decision which is absolutely ridiculous. Self identifying is clearly going to lead to bad actors.

The danger is that balance shifts too far the other way again and people are being discriminated against. I don’t disagree with the ruling, I do disagree with the celebratory tones and awful coverage that persists on this issue.

But women should never be put in a position where they feel unsafe. The Scottish Government in their quest to be uber liberal and different have created bad law. Thankfully here they didn’t push the button although they very nearly did as it was on agenda.

There’s no tone from me,I said on Twitter five days ago that I hope there’ll will be a humane outcome for everyone because as far as I’m concerned people can do (within reason) and be whatever they want but the huge silliness that’s been involved with people being afraid to speak the fucking truth over the subject has been hideous.
The sport argument has been an utter travesty for instance and when you have politicians coming out with trans women are women when any sane person knows that they are not is truly beyond belief.

Iam genuinely interested to know and I'm being deadly serious about this, how much has the internet contributed in a detremental way to the mental health of people in today's society, I think there is a definite correlation between what's going on in today's society and the advent of the WWW. And quite frankly is scary beyond belief.

Growing up in the 70s, there was certainly not the clamber to change gender that there now is. Trans people were very few compared to today.
Now, is that down to rise in social media etc.?

There's no doubt tho that the amount of 'women' standing up to take a piss is through the roof.

I was listening to Radio 2 in the car earlier and it interested me the way they announced the winners of the London Marathon.
First they announced the winner of the ‘mens’ race and then they announce the winner of the ‘women only’ race.
