Harry Darling …

Spot on assessment. It funny cos Sheehan in post match strongly pointed out the way we conceeded, like we did yesterday and it was not like us - as of recently performances and the team knew the goals would come from set plays and us giving it away. I highly doubt he will come back. If Darling goes and what is being said he has 1 week to make his mind up then we have to get a solid (physical) player. With Wales coming in this will add more physical presence in the team. Something we have been bullied for years. We are not suddenly going to solve this issue and it's always about the right blend. But defensively we have played with fire for a few seasons. We not only need replacement for Darling if he goes but a solid back up for Cabango and then add into mix Naughton replacement who needs to be challenging Key. Key needs to really step up also. Though improved under Sheehan, he still needs to work on when to release the ball and defense. Tymon is not immune from that and has admitted he needs to work on it. If it wasn't for Tymon assists and how creative he is I would be looking for a replacement, but stays due to this. But alot of teams identify Tymon as weakness to attack.
Key needs to work a lot on his ball playing and skills when facing his own goal. He changes into a completely different player when facing his own net

He’s definitely waiting for the play offs if them clubs are in for him, I’d rather us not be held to ransom like Robinson tried before, bittersweet when Leeds messed that up mind.

Unfortunately we're not quite in the same bargaining position as we were with Robbo, where we had him by the balls. Darling has a stronger hand right now, imo.

Yeah, but imagining Bristol City at all never mind Hazza as their main defensive signing in the PL is pretty funny...or SU relying on him come to that. He's not yet a finished and polished top level championship player never mind PL. It would kill his career stone dead next year.

It does feel a little like Alfie Mawson to Fulham… was becoming a top championship defender but left 1-2yrs too early…

(Although injuries did play a part for him)

I agree pal, he'd get eaten alive in the PL.

Unfortunately, this is where we are right now as a club and where the Championship is as a division - where you can get average mid table centre backs holding Championship-level clubs to ransom for their signature.

Darling Goes To Wrexham = And he scores against us. Naughton who also joined Wrexham as an experienced head for 1 season, celebrates, while Cullen appluads slightly from Wrexham Sub Bench 😂😂😂. Maybe Fulton too 😜😜😜. It might happen 😂😂😂 and that is why we will all hate Wrexham next year when they get promoted 😜😜

I might be in the minority, but I really couldn't care less if Harry Darling decides his future lies elsewhere; we move on.
If I was being picky. Rarely does his long passing work. And can be caught out with defending. I do like him but im ready to move on. He has dragged this on. Not much more we can do. Let's work on getting a replacement.

The season only finished 2 days ago. Hardly dragging things on. Disagree on his long ball distribution, which has been top drawer since Sheehan took over. I was indifferent about him leaving pre-Sheehan, with his improved all round displays I now think he would be a significant loss.

In 9 games under Sheehan with Darling in the side we've won 7 and drawn 2, away draws against Leeds and Preston. His Fotmob rating was 6.8 in one game, but otherwise was 7.3 up to 8.1. Just 3 goals conceded in those 9 games.

Darling and Cabango have been excellent since the turn of the year; both have their worth to us. Should we "push the boat out" to keep Darling? No, not in my opinion.
