Our Pre-season has been uneventful. And the start of the season is what many of us expected.

I won't sit here and go through everything that is right or wrong. But I will say this, we are rebuilding and it's not going to suddenly happen overnight. New players who have come in, need time, we have had alot of injuries, plus there are still gaps in the team that need filling. On top of that we have lost alot of experience in the team.

It's madness to see so many people already talking about Sheehan to be sacked. We he be on borrowed time, isn't all managers?

Did they get it wrong yesterday, sure. Will he do it again next weekend, maybe. But let's see where we are at in a few months time.

Im impatient as the next person and want results but saying we are going to be a team to go down, come on.

I agree we’ll have to be patient and we will improve, especially when new players come in.

The larger concerns come from not really knowing what we were trying to do yesterday. Usually you can see what the idea is but it didn’t seem the players knew what it was either.

Should we be playing to a philosophy (not saying it has to be the typical Swansea way) or should we be more adaptable to the opposition?

If adaptable means we play like yesterday, I will take philosophy every time. Birmingham have philosophy under Chris Davies and I'm pretty jealous he's not our club.

I really didn't think yesterday was that bad that we should be talking about Sheehan's future. Yes, as an attacking force we looked crap, but it's game 1, new players are still bedding in and we know that Vipotnik and Cullen aren't up to it, that's why the club is trying to sign a decent striker.

I don't like us losing, ever. But losing as we did yesterday I can grudgingly accept. What I can't accept is games like Pompey, Cardiff, Norwich and Coventry last season under Williams where it was just utter nonsense, schoolboy football, total lack of professionalism. We've never seen that under Sheehan.

Let's lay off the guy and give him a chance. He kept us up last season and he did it brilliantly. He has earned a fair crack at it.

I think people hear philosophy and think Russell Martin, maybe Luke Williams, and shudder; but it doesn’t have to mean being a complete zealot to one singular way of playing. As long as we have core principles then there’s flexibility there.

I’m not sure I’m a fan of setting up for the opponent in every match, I would rather stick to a broad way of playing and change when we absolutely have to.

Like it or not, our club has seen success because of philosophers. Managers like Martin had the right idea but failed in the execution. Sheehan will have my full support until he leaves or is sacked but I’d be lying if I said he feels like a 100% fit for us.

Always a risk appointing someone who’s popular with the players, boxed us in a bit with the end of season results but hasn’t that been our problem for too long…need a ruthless streak if you’re going to be successful…what’s that cliche ….no room for sentiment

Swans twitter is full of it mate, complete and utter bin fire. Making it hard to go on there tbh.
That’s because so many of them were full of hashtag piss the league when we signed a midfielder from Leyton Orient.

Ludicrous overreaction then and ludicrous overreaction now.

It’s not Sheehan’s fault that we haven’t yet brought the players we most needed.

One thing I would say though, is all the talk of ‘we have so many new players they’ll need time to settle’ is a bit odd given we started yesterday with 9 of the 11 being last season’s players. And Burgess for Darling is a pretty straight swap.

The difference is Galbraith instead of O’Brien.

Let’s hope that’s rectified this week with the player from Brighton or similar.

I’m hoping that the new players not breaking in to the team is temporary. Otherwise that’s a worry.
