Rachel Reeves

ECB is the type, to vote for a party and stick up for it.. even if the house is on fire, and the dull c*nt is sitting in the living room supping a cup of tea.. this was the bloke that openly stated "We've got grown ups in charge now, a non-corrupt government".. in fantasy land

Great post mate I’m starting to like you.

This thread doesn’t half sum up the problem we have in this country.

The Chancellor was wrong to not check the agency had done what they said they would do. I imagine, however, she’s pretty busy and paperwork probably isn’t top of her list.

But having made this error and apologised, the screaming from some, even on here (Darran!) demonstrates the idiotic nature of discourse at the moment.

If the chancellor was removed from post 1 month before the budget, the market reaction would cost everyone on this thread money. Possibly quite a lot of money. Gilt yields would immediately rise meaning the cost of government borrowing would rise and the planned tax rises would be increased even further, or public services would be cut. Mortgages would also be higher in the short term at the very least.

You do NOT piss around playing games with the chancellor position at this point in the economic cycle.

The fact that Badenoch and her braying colleagues don’t recognise that is enough to make them utterly unsuitable for office.

And people on here and elsewhere should wake up and live in the real world.

The right wing press are pushing this now (remember this dates back over a year) to attempt to cause chaos before the budget. As they don’t want to pay tax and don’t care about public services.

What part of that is so difficult to understand?

This ‘crime’ is something where councils hardly ever issue any fines at all (not even a hundred quid or so) as long as it’s a one off and isn’t a mass landlord deliberately avoiding the license. The maximum figure is for deliberate, multiple avoidance.

Get a grip.

Yeah it’s all my fault.

I'm not sticking up for Reeves, but isn't there vomit inducing hypocrisy for Tories to bellow about fiscal decency in public office?

Of course there is but that’s what the opposition do,if it was the other way around Labour would be doing the same, well they had a proper leader and not a fucking wew of course.

You literally wouldn't be in the shit though. The council would tell you to do it now and be more careful in the future.

And agencies pay over rental income after deducting all sorts of crap. Fees, any repair costs, etc etc. so half the time people probably don’t check what’s been taken and what hasn’t.
It's only my opinion/observation for what is worth.😁👍

Yeah I understand that. But the reason you th8ng you’d be in the shit is because the right wing media are making this out to be much more of an issue than it is.

There was a mortgage broker on earlier who does thousands of buy to lets and has been in property for 45 years and he said he only heard about this licence 6 months ago.

The issue is that councils only choose some areas to be included. And they change them all the time. In and out of scope. It almost always covers ares where there a4e very high levels of mass rental properties like student places or estates with huge numbers of people at very low incomes. It was brought in the prevent scum landlords from exploiting people with scummy properties.

Her house was in Dulwich and I don’t imagine she would have assumed it was an area that was being included given it’s pretty up market and with very few renters.

I heard that on the way home from work. LBC?

Don’t bother you can’t have an opinion on here anymore if it goes against the narrative of the sandal wearers.
What if public services are cut in a month then Darran? Or everyone’s cost of living increases even more and taxes are hiked even more than they will be anyway?
Is this nonsense more important than that? Someone not checking up on an agency being paid to do this for them? When they’re the bloody Chancellor and probably don’t spend a few hours every Sunday doing the admin.

Yeah. Heard him on the way back from taking my dog to the park. The presenter (who used to work of course for Theresa May) wasn’t having how trivial it was was he? He cut the bloke off so he could return to ‘disgusted’ Reform voters.

Fucking resign after the budget then.

That’s it, he’s getting more rabid as every week passes.

Oh the victims are out. Ooh you can’t have an opinion on here now. All the while posting their opinions. Fucking pathetic specimens who can’t cope with being disagreed with.

You’ve already tried to ridicule me for my opinion and if it was a Tory chancellor your opinion would be the complete opposite.
You haven’t got any balance see.
