The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

The length of the deal doesn't matter as much as the value of it.

For example, a four year deal for £150k a year costs the same overall as a three year deal on £200k. Could well have been structured that way for tax purposes.

But I doubt we're getting 5 coaching staff for £150K a year.

Jesus. O Dea.. Goodbye.. His half time talk clearly hasn't worked. Odd Subs.. And players look like they have given up. Anyone else worried about relegation yet 😂😂

Vitor has inherited a team that has potential but is scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to attacking conviction and confidence. Players always take the easy option and the lack of employing a central creative outlet to help get wingers and full backs in behind the defenders means we are always playing with the defense in front of us and not running towards their own goal.

He has a hell of a finisher in the form of Vipotnik, his first mission is going to have to be getting to know his players and he has precious little time to do it while also figuring out how to set up his team and the best positions for his players.

So why do you think they went for VM then ?
I have absolutely no idea, same as every other poster on this board. I’m not going to start making things up as to why they did, it’s completely pointless and how shite rumours start and spread.

The lie is halfway around the world before truth has got his trousers on, as they say.

He has the bones of a decent side there to work with. Would like to see Inoussa get a run of games, needs his confidence built up. Get Widell playing centrally and Vipotnik up top and I think we’ll be okay.

Does he?

There's been very little evidence of that so far this season.

Yes, we’ve been awful all season and managed to pick up 17 points from somewhere. You don’t do that if the players you have are completely hopeless.

We know Vigs is good enough, we’ve seen full seasons from Cabango and Tymon, we know they are Championship quality. Galbraith is a good player. Vipotnik will score if you give him a sight at goal. There is a decent spine to this side. In my view, they have been asked to play in a way that doesn’t suit them.

I’ve said it all season, we aren’t top 6 but we’re a Hell of a lot better than where we are at the moment.
