• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

You might take the piss, but he had the correct idea.. house immigrants in hotels on an all inclusive on billions a year and there's about 200k+ British homeless on the streets

Never mind that their relatives have probably paid into this system for years..

Where are the human rights a*seholes who protect immigrants at all costs.. yet no word about the treatment of a homeless British person.. it's contrary to their political MO

Go on then how would you solve the homeless issue.

Considering every expert in the field explains how immensely complicated with every individual having different needs.

No 2 why is being nasty to immigrants going to make any difference? And if say we decided to focus all of our money on the homeless issue instead. What will reform (I don’t doubt you support them) do about all the other areas of public expenditure?

Because isn’t cutting foreign aid and having no immigrants the answer to all our prayers?

What will you do about the incredibly low birth rate? How do we support the ageing population?

Argh. Flags.

Again, you're concocting theories in your own head again, seek a psychiatrist, honestly, bless you

You’ll get laid soon
laid off more likely and end up like the other 200k+ poor sods who are second class citizens, many of whom have served so you can post up patronising and made up posts about somebody on an internet forum

Okay. Let’s call it a day there. I genuinely wish you well. I can tell you’re angry at how things are but I think you’re looking in wrong direction. We will never agree time to leave it there.

I'm not angry, I'm not blaming immigrants or have an irrational hatred, you have posted something that isn't true.. I'm talking about the disparity between what an immigrant receives than what a homeless person receives.. someone who's family have paid into a system, served in the armed forces etc.. it's you going on about something I haven't even said or implied

Homelessness is very complicated as you’ve pointed out.

I’ve spoken to 3 homeless people (rough sleepers) in the last 2 weeks.

The first has some underlying MH issues and chooses to sleep rough most of the time, he can stay somewhere when he wants to but chooses to sleep on the streets. I suspect there’s long standing MH issues and a former drinking problem underlying his issues, he’s a bright guy but very pleasant.

The second was in emergency accommodation, but got hoofed out because he was he nicking from others - again a very pleasant person.

The third was also in emergency accommodation but got booted out for breaching the rules and being found in possession of drugs.

Two of the 3 brought it on themselves. I signposted the first to someone who could help him but he didn't want it, the second to someone who could help him and he accepted, the third wanted help but wouldn't actually do anything re the advice given to him and the help that was arranged, he couldn’t be bothered to get the ball rolling and blamed everyone else but himself. You can lead a horse to water……
