• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out.

    Glamorgan Cricket 2026

Unbelievable result. 125 behind on first innings, five down last night. I still don’t think this is a great Glammy side but they do consistently bat long and that’s worth something.

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

I would love to see the forum continue too. But there will be costs involved which have to be covered somehow. My experience of setting up a website when I was self-employed for a year or so (2005/6, so a long time ago) is that you have to pay for (a) registering a domain name for x number of...

I’m glad you spotted that too, I was fearful I was missing something. (I’m on and off CH a lot at the moment). It’s Swansea City Football 2002, isn’t it?

Companies House reckons the accounts are late. Second class post is useless these days

I was there too, top of the double decker, can still remember one move by Best, a sort of shimmy right then left, which took the breath away.

New EU passport & biometric entry requirements

We went through Geneva last weekend. We duly filed through the area where the machines were: they were turned off. Person alongside us said that they’d been working when they passed through in February. I think that’s Geneva’s way of saying that on a winter Saturday they can’t cope with the...

    More Financial Advice Needed

He called his local police in Yarmouth out last summer because he saw a boat with people trying to land. Turned out it was the local rowing club.

Rolling back the years but did anyone go to Swans 1 Wrexham 2 in February 1970? I have a lot of vivid memories of that night, some of which even may be accurate: we conceded early, had all the play, belatedly got back to 1-1 then Wrexham scored again. Arfon Griffiths stood out for the...

    The Ashes 2025/26

I loved the Gillette Cup. I think the first game I ever went to was Glam v Herts in about 1968. Tony Lewis got 96. Happier note in Australia - Asa Tribe got a ton for the England Lions. Massive respect.

Is that the same as Mint in Mumbles? They are brilliant.

    Kim Hellberg

Sadly (having gone to university there) I’d say yes. The chat used to be that Norwich had a pub for every day of the year and a church for every week.

Welsh Rugby Bosses to Scrap One Region by 2027

A lot of the income, i think, is ‘earned’ by the regions by playing in the Heineken Cup, etc, but routed through the WRU for admin/ contractual reasons. Smoke and mirrors.

Not so much about the first season as how we got up and then stayed up. There was a coached style of play. There were some ‘under appreciated’ players. This team is, I think, getting there. Not this year though. But we only went up by the skin of our teeth! You have a short memory.
