Does anyone have any idea as to why we’ve taken a man out midfield to accommodate an additional rookie CB when our defence was settled and pretty good already? I can understand it for Man C, but our weakness in the league hasn’t been at the back.

It’s obvious isn’t it. We’re still struggling to cobble together a squad after the disastrous tenure of Levien and Caplan, (un)ably assisted by Coleman. The last couple of years under them were disastrous - any decent players sold and utter crap brought in. It’ll take a while to build again.

Any idea where he was today? I’ve been busy and missed the game, but my better half told me he wasn’t in the squad and the Radio Cymru commentators didn’t know why.

Cop enough to be comfortably top so far, despite him being the captain and ever present. He was never the problem here.

Imagine if we had the option of bringing O’Brien on against City instead of Ronald McDonald. Ah well, what’s done is done. We don’t miss him normally, but an extra body for the midfield would be welcome.

Key and Tymon can both hold their heads up high after those performances. Tymon’s concentration through that second half especially was superb.

Widell was superb. The lad never stopped running and was really positive on the ball. He worked a lot better with key in the first half than Ronald ever does imo.

Yet Michu came as a midfielder. He was a phenomenal player (briefly). He had it all; touch, vision, technical ability, pace, finishing, passing. Bony was great for us, but he’d have made a crap midfielder whereas Michu could play the support role and the striker role. If I had to have one in my...
