    Budget November 2025

But hang on. This budget has done, imperfectly, but tried, to do something about some of the inequality (which is, I agree, an absolute scandal) and those you are agreeing with have done nothing but moan. This government, for all its poor so far, aren’t the ones that have caused this.

It’s genuinely ridiculous that people think ‘the wealthy’ should pay for everything and the wealthiest group of all should pay nothing. Anyway, it’s pointless.

It’s £20k per annum. Just into ISAs. So people who can afford to save an additional £20k every year on top of their living expenses. And they’re the ones who shouldn’t pay tax? Right.

Ah. So pensioners, who are the wealthiest generation that have ever lived should pay no tax and struggling young people bringing up kids, with small hopes of ever enjoying the wealth current pensioners have and won’t be able to afford to buy a house, should?

Yes it will, but the wealthier you are, the more you are disproportionately exposed to unearned income. By definition, pensioners are only exposed to additional tax on interest income that comes from savings in excess of the £20k cash ISA per annum allowance.

It was obvious that he was the difference and they targeted him. He needs to be strong enough to deal with it.

They actually went further than I expected - everyone anticipated the mansion tax but the 2p increase in dividends and savings income will hit the wealthier far more than others and that was unexpected. The other thing no one’s really thinks about in terms of people leaving is so much is now...

When a team is both hopeless at attacking and creating and hopeless in defence, chances are it’s the midfield that’s the problem. They aren’t supporting and creating attack as and they aren’t supporting and providing an outlet in defence. It’s all pretty and pointless. Franco played really...

Last season one loan made a huge difference to the team. We need to attempt to do the same this year. One experienced, probably expensive, loan from a team that has a midfielder who is great at this level but not quite up to it at premier league level, who can inject energy and drive...

Well let’s hope that isn’t the case. Albeit I remember saying in the days leading up to it that I couldn’t see how the coaches would get permits. But I hope it’s just a delay. As we need a break.

It goes to show that young players from frankly second rate leagues together with people brought in from league 1 isn’t the answer for the championship unless they’re going into a team that has solidity and consistency. Adding one or two is one thing, building a new team around them is a recipe...

Our only hope is that we have two very favourable games up next.

Because we are not fit enough to keep it going. And they stepped up the urgency at which point we were just left with our players not being as good as theirs.

So I thought the first half we showed energy and urgency (until about 25 minutes) but no composure. The problem was in the second half they matched our energy and urgency at which point we just had the no composure bit left. That was as poor a half of football as I’ve seen us play for a long...
