• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Your First Ever Game At The Vetch !?

Swansea 2-2 Aldershot Town start of season 68/69 During the game my dad said Liverpool play in the same colors as Aldershot. Because of the crowd noise I misheard him. For the next 4 years I thought my first game was Liverpool until one day I realized it was Aldershot when I was going through...

Profit and Sustainability - is dead and replaced

This summer or next?. Transfer market explosion. If clubs have to adhere to spending 85% of revenue on players then how many players are going to be sold by each club to get from the current 110% average down to 85% Does it mean downgrading squads to meet that 85 threshold? Does it mean...

Profit and Sustainability - is dead and replaced

Championship clubs (16) voted to move to a new system of Squad Cost Rules SCR benefits clubs with bigger stadiums and lucrative sponsorship deals as it effectively creates a larger budget to spend on players. Not sure whether this is good or bad for us

    Where will people be posting

I've been building websites since 2002. This site uses the NewsUp WordPress theme (59 dollars/year) and Xenforo for the forum (100 dollars a month). or a one-time $200 fee if we host/manage There would be a one-time cost migrating users (members) It would also need hosting, a domain name...

    Zan Vipotnik

RIP VIP Strikers have purple patch seasons. Think Michu and McBurnie. Management would be incompetent if they do not sell him in the Summer So stop speculating on whether he stays. Purple patches and our finances dictate it Only speculation left should be how much It is effectively a done deal

    Spurs Away

My best memory of Spurs is the League Cup in 1978 when they came with World Cup winners Ossie Ardilles, Ricardo Villa and Glenn Hoddle et al 2-0 up ended 2-2 draw at the Vetch and I thought the upset chance had gone. Then we went and stiffed them 3-1 at White Hart Lane
