    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Portsmouth v Swansea | 7.45pm, Tuesday 10th March 2026 | The EFL Championship | Fratton Park

We need far bigger output from the wingers and a robust defensive show to win games like this, being clinical on the break and not crumbling under pressure will be the deciding factor as Pompey will throw the kitchen sink at us but leave themselves open to the counter. Also, from the recent...

    Galbraith

EG is evidently a very classy player with a very high ceiling. But am I wrong to expect more from him, especially in shooting positions? When Vip is about to pull the trigger we all expect, but when it’s Galbraith I don’t get the same sense of anticipation, it may as well be Ronald or Cabango...

    Zan Vipotnik

It’s been seen many times before that a club, the swans included, sell their ‘best player’ for big money, reinvest wisely then actually improve and move up a level. That takes a lot of knowhow (and also some luck) in the transfer market. This Vip situation will be a big test for the recruitment...

Ah yes, Leeds, forgot about that one at the peak of the Sheehan caretaker bounce! We were good that day and shows that it can be done.

    Ronald

Leave him out for the rest of the season and have him play Tetris on full speed for hours a day to improve his decision making skills, which are staggeringly woeful. Wouldn’t want to be a passenger in a car with Ron at the wheel!

I can’t remember the last time we went away to a promotion chaser and came away with anything. We’re capable of winning if we are ultra clinical and don’t miss sitters like we did at Coventry and Hull, but ultimately I’m not convinced that we are tight enough at the back……yet.

    Yalcouye

That is the potential outcome, but if they’ve been watching his development keenly it may be noted that he’s likely to get more game time with us next season if he continues to stand out. Our competitors will have made note of him

    Yalcouye

I was wondering the same thing as I was driving home last night. I think he’s being managed by a guy who knows a lot about young players’ development, plus he’s a loanee. I think we’ll see the same with Walta who also needs time. Yalcouye has close control and quick feet the like of which we...

    Yalcouye

Nice problem to have. I have a sense that Galbraith or Stamenic will be sold as that is the business model and Malik has all the makings of a star player.

    Yalcouye

He’s improved massively as the season has gone on, there’s an incredible player waiting to happen one he gains experience and composure. Personally I hope for a Guehi style extended loan as next season he will go up another few levels, but probably won’t feature for Brighton yet. Wishful...

    The RB situation-Key and Galbraith

Tricky one in midfield, Stamenic is perfectly suited to the CDM role as is back next game. But yeah, Galbraith should be in midfield so he can influence the game, he is great at finding and making space. Maybe a starting trio of Stamenic, Galbraith and Franco with Yalcouye (who really deserves a...

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 1 PNE 1 | Att: 20,233 | 24/02/26 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

Poor performance tonight, no dressing that up, better in the second half but the first set the bar so low that even one accurate pass would have been an upgrade. I praised Ben and Cam at the weekend for their doggedness but tonight they showed their limitations on the ball and why we need to...

    Play offs..

I don’t think so, not with the fixtures we have in the last 13 games. 65 points would be more than acceptable. And that’s fine, even to be talking about this being a slight possibility means that Matos has been a huge success, and we can genuinely expect to put in a serious challenge next season.

Haha, that analogy will do nicely! And watching him try to deliver a cross is like trying to eat said trifle with chopsticks!

Agreed, yes I should have included him in that too. He was great, battled non stop. It was a game for the meat-and-potatoes players!
