• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

    The Last Day

It’s getting close now to that dreaded shutdown, at least when it comes to being able to post our thoughts and feelings on here. The big question now is, who will get the last word on the forum before this site says arrivederci to us all. I believe that it would be fitting for Phil to say a...

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

As I sit here on my chair typing this, it’s caused me to reflect on the JackArmy.net going supernova at midnight tonight. As a long term lurker and short term poster, It’s been a real blast. Even so, home is where the heart is as they say, and so reluctantly and with more than the single...

Just curious, who is the player that you’re referring to?

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

So, this is it. Now this site has entered the final straight of its upcoming curtain call, I can’t help but recall the poignant and deeply moving words of Roy Batty, Rutger Hauer’s replicant character from Ridley Scott’s 1982 Blade Runner film. Seen as one of the greatest cinematic speeches...

    Jim White

That “turd” they couldn’t flush for 7 whole years, lol. It sank a quite a few of those titanic battleships along the way as well, so there were no flies on us.

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

Before us JackArmy posters face the final curtain with this being our last month posting on these boards, there’s one thing that I’d like to thank Phil for, and that is the opportunity for all of us to say our goodbyes to each other and reminisce about what it means to endure and, occasionally...

    Football Focus ending

Sorry for the late reply, but no my post wasn’t directed at your musings on the saturation point of football punditry on TV. I replied to your post as I noticed that you’d inadvertently created two great names for a football show. My post was, in fact, posted in response to the mood music of...

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

And just when Kaplan and Levien had vacated the stage exit left to be replaced by owners who, at least on the face of it, have some passion, commitment and drive for the club to become successful again. To me, as I’m sure it is for everyone else, this is truly a sad end to such a wonderful...

    Football Focus ending

Kick Off and The Final Whistle are both great names for a TV programme about football. I’m not sure what to say about the anti “woke” types who are getting triggered by female hosts, presenters and pundits on these shows. Let’s just say it as it is, and call it out as what it is, which is a...

    Championship Team Of The Season

I’m not sure how that works when, in awarding the Player of the Season title to Hayden Hackney, they’ve ignored the one player who is head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of goals scored at 21 so far and counting. In my opinion, the very fact that he’s excelled in front of goal, in a...

    Alexander Manninger RIP

Terribly sad news. Condolences to his family, friends and all those fans of all the clubs that he played for, and felt connected to him and his achievements in the sport.

    Sheff Wed

Talk about kicking a man when he’s down. That’s like booting someone in the teeth and scrotum at the same time whilst kicking sand in their face for good measure.

    First Female Head Coach

Excellent news, and one that I’m hoping will be a game changer. There will likely be some hurdles along the way, but the biggest has already been overcome, which is appointing her in the first place. The rest is mostly up to the football fans, pundits, and clubs around the world to alter their...
