The Jack Army Roars: A New Dawn at Swansea City

Excellent article but its a steady as you go approach from me there are still a few chinks in our armour, but if I come away as I did after a 2-1 defeat at Oldham under Roberto in August 2007 with the same feeling of excitement then we will be ok for what is going to be a tough, relentless season ahead.

All of a sudden we are starting to look like a professional football club, on and off the field, and whilst the thought of returning to a Cat 1 status for our academy might be one or two seasons away, one imagines that if the general sporting public have been taken by events off the field then before too long the call will be to expand the stadium. Now that's something that hasn't been talked about for a long time.

I was as angry as I've ever been at a football match after that Oldham defeat , particularly with Alan Tate. Completely played them off the park that day and Tate gave away a stupidly needless penalty right at the end of the game. In fact , I'm still angry now recalling the whole bloody experience.

Odd cos I felt elated after that game, knew we had the right man in place and things just skyrocketed after that.

I definitely wasn’t angry that day it was excitement at what lay ahead as it was clear to see

You’re right in we should have won the game but it was one of the most positive I have been at the end of a defeat

Don’t think many fans across the country have ever had the feeling in so many numbers that we had on that day in Oldham.

It was weird at the time walking out hearing an entire away end talking about how everyone just “knew”.
