Fantastic show of faith in some of the young keepers we've nurtured in our academy over the years...

Yes, what's your point. You mean the ones we sent out on loan to gain experience in the lower leagues?
You would think a young keeper would come in for Broome and not some 35yr old.Fantastic show of faith in some of the young keepers we've nurtured in our academy over the years...

My point being that the young keepers closest to being ready for first team involvement have already been loaned out elsewhere.Yes, what's your point.
So a better option rather than recall an up and coming youngster from his loan is to sign a 35 year old journeyman who's spent most of his career bouncing around the lower/non leagues? My point being that the young keepers closest to being ready for first team involvement have already been loaned out elsewhere.
Is the new signing random? Yes
But it suggests that the keepers still currently at the club need more development as they move up the age grade sides and experience playing actual games. A reserve keeper is less likely than any other player to see playing time, what they could learn is also generally far less than just about any other outfield position.
The player had only just gone out on loan, most loan deals include a recall clause in the January transfer window, but not in the window that they only just went out on barely a fortnight ago.So a better option rather than recall an up and coming youngster from his loan is to sign a 35 year old journeyman who's spent most of his career bouncing around the lower/non leagues?

Yes. Absolutely.
Let the youngsters be out playing games and gaining experience instead of kicking their heels on the bench.
Don't disagree with your comment, but do we want to rely on a non league/League Two keeper as a stand in if we had a keeper crisis? Surely we could have brought a better back up in?
