Absolutely it is. Anyone expecting miracles overnight need to temper their expectations.

Brand new squad, managers first full season in charge, this is definitely a season with an eye on next year and the years after that.

One or two on here will want instant success and one or two enjoy complaining for the sake of complaining.
Luckily we have people who are aware of the common ground that is required.
It's a fine line between it and you then find people will moan that those people are moaning even though they are not 🤣

No idea what that means.

It's all on the owners expectations, if we're in the playoffs in January and we back Sheehan, and we end up 10th, you'll have the usual realistic patsy saying it's a good season, (then the owners get rid of Sheehan) and it'll be the good old "rebuild" posters coming out of the woodwork making excuses after excuses, in the real world, if you're not making targets you'll get booted out in a month, footballers don't understand true reality
What are the owners expectations?
Are expectations always realistic or not, it seems the expectations in the football is world that we will have a solid season but just fall outside the play offs and end up in mid table. That for me is the minimum but we should never just settle for that and have one eye on that too 6, if we can achieve that then great.

There will most certainly be targets set....minimum being the one that if not achieved then asks questions.
Unfortunately in the world of football fans, excuses is a 2 way street and is easily used with no solid truth back up or an explanation given which generally is an opinion passed off as a fact from the person delivering it.

If we're in the playoffs in January, the board back Sheehan and we end up 10th Sheehan will be gone, and you and the rebuild reality cult will still say it's a decent season, and it's another rebuild load of bollocks.

If you look at history, Rodgers was our 4th choice and got us up in one season, Scott Parker got Burnley up, Farke got Norwich up, McKenna got Ipswich up, it's not a fluke going up in a first season, Sheehan isn't even in his first season, he's been in the building longer, but it's the usual he needs time, it's a rebuilding process.. what a load of bollocks in the real world

Think you need a dose of reality.

Excuse no1 from the rebuild and excuse department brigade, whatever your opinions on previous regimes, they were pumping in 20 million every year, even though it felt like they weren't
This transfer window has been transformative for the club. This isn't an excuse, it's been realistic.

I'm surprised with that also because you are good at delivering it 🙈🤣
Maybe I'll get promoted in to the same league as you when it comes to chatting shit, one day.

Let's not clog this thread up with going back and forth, I'll let you have the last word. We all know how much it means to you.

What if we are 12/13th in Jan but end up 10th come game 46........does he still have a job then?

It's all ifs and buts of course but this is where targets need to be put in place and followed upto the last game of the season.
We don't want to make knee jerk reactions if a manager gets a group to over perform(play offs) upto a point(Jan) but then eventually ends up in the place they expected him to finish from their target set(let's say top 10) at the start of the season.
A sense of expectancy needs to be managed and that needs to be followed even if we have a spike of unexpected hope.

I will have the last word thank you,i have let you have the last word in the last 3 or 4 chats but you are clearly so wrapped up in things that you didn't even notice that.

You are f@cking bonkers!

You make a lot of sense.

Any decent manager will get a proper tune out of such a talented, richly assembled deep 'n wide squad.

No need for 'time to jelly' excuses - our top recruitment team will no doubt have 'football intelligence, 'emotional intelligence' on their key selection criteria. These types of players get it, they know how to jelly, 'prompto'.

Sheeezy is our significant limiting factor. Our leadership will see this.

Some of our online average Joe sheeple need some proper ambishun, if not for themselves but for our Club. Proper fans most certainly do, our expectations are elevated, always.

Talking to yourself isn't a good look.

Hell of shift from Nottingham Hill to Penlan.
