Vitor Matos Named Swansea City Boss as New Era Begins at the Swansea.com Stadium

Has to get to grips with our failings down the right hand side, and sort out the inability to defend set pieces, something that led massively to Sheehan losing his job.

We have to see a better performance tonight and pick up a point or three. If he gets us a few wins in the next 4 games, the mood will shift. Good luck Mr Matos!

I am thrilled that Joey and Leon are helping the settling in process - but how the fook are they going to find the kettle?
I’m also thrilled and would love it if one of them stayed on when Vitor gets his back room staff in place.
Maybe one of them can take on KOL’s tablet thingy.
Jokes aside though, he talks about Swansea’s DNA and there’s no better than those two who know it.

He's been in charge since yesterday afternoon.
The players knew he was coming in on Saturday & look how they played then.
I think people have to temper their expectations tonight.
Look to see how he settles in this week and go from Saturday.

To be honest all I want to see tonight is an improvement in aggression and a want to win rather than not wanting to lose - green shoots of recovery - I’ll be happy with that no matter the result as IF we continue to improve the results will come.

I appreciate he needs time - but our next 5 matches we need to be picking up as many points as we can to ensure we aren’t dragged into a relegation battle post new year.
They are winnable games against teams we should be beating.
We have a tough fixture list in January/February and a poor December will really start to show

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s going to be a revolution but the way we’ve been playing of late can’t be that difficult to improve on, even in a couple of training sessions. I think back to Sheehan’s first game in his second stint, beat Blackburn 3-0, it was night and day compared to what we had been seeing. When things have gotten that bad, just a bit of organisation and a new voice can help a lot in my opinion.

I don’t think the manager watching Bristol would’ve made that much of a difference, it was still the old coaching team and I personally didn’t think it was a lack of effort on the weekend.

I agree- I saw effort and we had chances. The subs and formation with Burgess ending up as a wing back at times totally disrupted us. Looking forward to seeing the selection and early tactics tonight. Uppa Swans

I feel that expectations need to be tempered somewhat
He is taking over a side who would be in a far worse position if it wasn't for Vipotnik and Vigouroux

Derby meanwhile are bang on form even if they did throw away a 2-0 lead against Watford last time out, they had won the previous five on the spin. Today I am hoping to see the building blocks of what he expects and demands of his players, a performance more positive than negative would also feel like a victory.

A point or more would be like winning the lottery right now
