Bellamy was doing a Q & A tonight with Ian Gwynn -Hughes at Ton Pentre Football club, apparently the FAW have been doing a sort of roadshow with him around the country.

Very impressive very interesting to hear his opinion of how we need to play football to be successful, also interesting was his thoughts on some of the Wales squad and basically if you don’t work hard for the benefit of the team its unlikely you will get a game.

A few Cardiff fans there were going off about Ruben Colwill he replied he is playing well and then emphsisied in League 1, went on to say he is talented but doesn’t do enough tracking back and wont be playing for Wales or a higher level until he learns that lesson. Was very supportive of a few of the other Cardiff youngsters but full of praise for products of our academy.

Concerns that Acadenys picking up players at 6 yr old is damaging for children and believes that the academy system should only come in at teenage years. Up to that age coaching should be about skills and enjoyment with your friends.

Was very open on his mental health struggles over the years and how his behaviour was linked to that, talked about the lonely life in an academy and being homesick as a 15 year old in Norwich.

Someone asked about Celtic job and it would appear he was approached by them for the job whilst Brendan was still there but desperately wants to get to a tournament with Wales and leave a legacy.

Well worth attending one of these events if you get a chance.

Somebody should have asked him why he wears love goggles when he watches Cullen.
I think that's unfair. Cullen was worth his place against N Macedonia for example, he played well and I can see what Bellamy sees.
What I can't understand is how he turns into a whinging, useless nonentity when he puts a Swans shirt on.

Yes, the difference in his attitude and demeanor is stark. Maybe he thinks he’s Billy big balls in Swansea and Timmy tiny todge with Wales.

Bellamy said he plays certain players against certain teams purely on the basis of the work they do in pressing and keeping shape. He mentioned Sheehan, Cullen and others as players who he needed to play in those games but not others.

He also says he has banned waving arms about and painting by the players as it gives the defending team an advantage.

He reckons Lawlor will be playing PL by the end of thebseason.

Interesting one with Lawlor. Problem he might have will be like Rodon had. If a Spurs type team picks him up he’ll end up being 4th choice and not playing.

Career (if not bank balance) wise better off going to a team at the top of the Championship where you establish yourself and keep your place on promotion.

If you’re good enough then you’ll get another move sooner rather than later.

I think he’ll have a decent career in club management. Seems to have mellowed as a person compared to when a was a player. For a Cardiff lad, he’s very complimentary towards Swansea. I for one wouldn’t be against him managing us down the future if the opportunity arose.

Oh I'd agree I was meaning when he watches Culls playing for us then he ( CB ) moaning that Swans fans don't appreciate him.

Maybe the difference in managers / coaches. Bellamy is an extremely passionate bloke, can we say the same for our recent club managers? If you have a strong leader, that’ll filter down no matter what industry you’re in.

That so true. I’ve had mangers who I’d crawl over broken glass for and I’ve had managers who are lucky I’ve turned up for work.

Yeah I was speaking from personal experience as well mate. Some managers inspire, others think they’ve made it and expect everyone below them to carry the can.

Makes a huge difference having some who inspires you to be better and go the extra mile on a daily basis because you don’t want to let them down.

Ive been lucky enough only to work for one real twat and to this day I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire.
