One of a manager’s main tasks, whether in football or any other workplace, is to get the best out of the people working for them in order to achieve the club’s goals. When you look at Jay’s recent performances, it’s clear that the previous few managers failed in that area.

Crikey he's had 2 good games and loads on here think he's turned into Messi . With the superb game he had on Saturday you have to ask " has he been massively under performing for us , for most of his recent 3 year contract here". And is it only now that his contract is coming to an end he's decided to show a bit of his talent, because lets be honest, we haven't seen a performance like his on Saturday for donkeys years.
You may have noticed that the wording above Jay Fulton doesn’t read “Lionel Messi” but “The Transformed Man.”

It would not be an understatement to conclude, that what we’ve seen of Fulton in seasons gone by in comparison to what we’ve seen of late, is night and day.

I’ve always been an advocate of him remaining a squad player with us when he slid down the pecking order, rather than being let go of, mainly because his value, even as a squaddie, is something that the team can well do with when it matters most.

His experience and ability to be called upon at the drop of a hat consistently throughout his time with us, is something to be lauded.

These attributes aren’t readily available in all the players that we have and, couple that with what he’s done when donning the Swans shirt over the last couple of games, makes me think that’s there’s still a place for him to slot into the lineup, whether that be from the bench or in the starting eleven.

If the detractors of his aren’t willing to acknowledge the contribution he’s made throughout his career with the club, then they may have a case to argue.

This is the case when they choose those instances that point towards their reasoning, such as the playoff final red card booking and his less than exciting double act performances with Grimes.

However, what can’t be argued at this very moment in time, is the contribution he’s making right now for the team, the manager, the club and its fans.

If it’s just a flash in a pan then, by all means, fill your boots on how he’s one of the worst players that the Swans has ever signed, although I beg to differ on that front.

For now though, why not refrain from making the thankless task of playing for us even less thankless, by giving credit where it’s due and acknowledge what a sterling job this much maligned player has done over the past few games, and hopefully, through to the end of the season.
