I need to say this. Wrexham away is a great away day. I went up there some years ago and we went up through the heart of Wales. There are some stunning locations and places to stop off on the way there. We were in the big stand behind the goal and at the time they still had their Kop open. We lost. But we had a great time with a meal in town and played pool in the Turf before it became famous.

But this season I don’t believe going away to Wrexham is a big deal. Only 1,200 jacks stuck in a stand with some restricted views with a really crap small concourse area makes it nothing special. The romance of their documentary will be lost when you are in the ground and the match is being played. It will be a fair better experience when they open the new stand and do some redevelopments of the older stands. I hope they move the away fans back to the old away end. With a 18,000 they will have to give over roughly 1,800 seats. It holds roughly 2,800 so perhaps it would be shared?

Anyway don’t be too disappointed if you haven’t got a ticket the experience you think you will be missing is certainly not the experience you would be getting. If you do have tickets make the most of our beautiful country on your trip there and back.
My determination to go there this season, quite apart from wanting to support and cheer on my home team, is to experience a moment in history in football.

The way things are looking in the table, they could well be promoted this season, so the chance to see them play us before they achieve an unprecedented back to back to back to back promotion run is also why I’ve earmarked this game.

I don’t have a crystal ball to gaze into admittedly, but I can’t see us playing them in the Championship next season somehow, and with them seemingly going from strength to strength, they are likely to remain in the Premier League for quite some time, maybe as long as we were if not more.

The big question and concern for them is, what will happen if and when Ryan and Rob finally decide to bring the curtain down on their tenure?

My best guess is that they’ll seek out owners that will be the perfect fit for the club, and probably take a step back and move into the shadows rather than remove themselves from Wrexham altogether.

Myself, I can’t see that handover being a botch job with purely financial gain being foremost in their minds, unlike the way it turned out for us, when Jenkins et al became the sellout squad.

Naturally I will want our team to win against them and to grab the three points that we so desperately need, to be in contention for a playoff spot ourselves.

However, other than wanting that for the team I support, I will wish them the very best of luck for their future endeavours on and off the field.

It’s been edited. It’s the second time I’ve had to edit it out of a post from the same poster. One more will be a ban. It’s a hideous word and anyone who uses it should be ashamed and take a long hard look at themselves.
Thanks Clasey.

Use to think he was just trying to be provocative, now I just think he’s stupid.

On a positive note he’s got me on ignore so he no longer interacts with me.

Playing Wrexham away in a league match is no special moment in History, it’s just another away football match for our club. There is nothing magical about the Racecourse, it’s a dump and will be a dump until they get it sorted. Wrexham is a nice enough city, but it is really small and doesn’t offer a huge amount. Now I understand that people are desperate to go because of the hype around them, but I just wanted to warn people that if they are not successful, it really isn’t the end of the world.

To say they will get promoted is a long way off yet. We don’t know if they will have a blip. Even reaching the playoffs-offs they are not guaranteed anything. Not to say they will not go up, but we have no idea. And to say they will have a long stay in the Prem is not cut and dry. You can spend an absolute fortune and you still can get relegated.

Best Wishes to all the fans that are able to go a week on Friday, but honestly the size of the concourse and the obstructed views will hamper the away day experience for some. You can wish them whatever you like, but I really don’t care what they do. They are just another club in our division. I don’t get you even mentioning that you wish them well in the future. Did you wish Preston luck in the future after we played them? The only thing that makes Wrexham different to the other Championship clubs are they based in Wales. That’s it, they are also Welsh. Who gives a frig what they do? You seem to have been taken in by their documentary, somewhat?

I hope they don’t get another back to back to back to back. What in the world has Wrexham doing well got anything to do with the Swans? It’s been achieved through a tremendous amount of investment. It’s NO fairytale. It’s only a fairytale for their hardcore fans who saw them before the take over, who followed them through thick and thin, other than that they have managed through brilliant marketing to gain world wide attention, but why does that matter to you or the Swans. Wrexham have a good fans forum if you want to be all lovey and dovey about them. I hope the people who have managed to get their hands on tickets are there for the Swans. Not Disney Tourists on their documentary bandwagon. I do believe the fact that the tickets were sold to fans who have been away like 4 times this season has meant we do actually have fans there to be completely behind the Swans and not ones just trying to get a glimpse of Ryan Reynolds.

This season I have seen fans on X desperate for tickets to the Racecourse. There are a number of factors why this was.
1. It is a new ground for a lot of the Championship fans, a few of the sides had never played them before. So some fans wanted to tick them off their lists.
2. The ground only being 3 sided this season has meant the demand as outweighed the supply. Nearly every side in the Championship received 1,293 tickets, the lowest amount (full allocations) offered by any side in the Championship, hence the scramble for tickets.
3. Then we come to the rest, the Disney Tourist brigade the fans of the away team who have enjoyed watching their documentary and see it has an opportunity to say you were part of the Wrexham Show, you can watch the next season and say ‘oh I was part of that!’

People are in for a rude awaking if they think a trip to Wrexham will be magical in anyway. The match will only be a good away experience if we win or manage to at least draw. If we lose and you don’t feel gutted then you have no right having a ticket for the match. Away fans are not there to give any thought to the opposition. Apply for a ticket in their home end if you are there for anything to do with them. The people I know who have managed to get tickets are hardcore Swansea fans and I know they will be there for our team not a friggin circus. Imagine being desperate for a ticket because you want to be part of history for the frigging opposition. 🤮

Tell me you’re gutted about missing out on a ticket without telling me you’re gutted about missing out on a ticket.

Ignore the prick,Perch goes to more games than he does.
I haven’t been away for years. The aim of my posts are just to assist the people who are gutted about missing out on the Wrexham tickets. In some people’s minds it is something that I know it will not be. I think some people are visualising it to be something really special. It will only be something vaguely special if we get something out of it. The Portsmouth away trip will also be a good one to go to, if you are able to. They have spruced up their ground and the away end is a bit better than it was.

Exactly.

The ground will have their hardcore season ticket holders and a sprinkling of locals who will be lucky in their ballot. The rest of the fans will be football tourists, taking selfies, filming Tik Toks and YouTube videos. There will be a multitude of accents from a multitude of locations all round the world. There will be a strong North American presence. It will be interesting for our fans to see. I hope we smash them.
