I’m not arguing with you about that, I agree. I’m just surprised that people focus on a player who at least had a go covering for the missing captain, and the missing captain is seemingly exonerated.

Except on this occasion he wasn't actually missing.

If you want to talk about players going missing, watch their second goal back where Burgess actually went missing.

I'm no huge fan of Cabango but to blame him is a bit harsh. He'd come across to cover after Burgess's mis-control. You can't expect him and Burgess to then swap positions while play was going on. You can blame Key for pushing out to the winger when he could have stayed narrow. You can blame Ronald for allowing a pass on his inside. But ultimately it was Burgess's half-hearted attempt to tackle Broadhead with his wrong foot which cost us. The more I watch it, the more pathetic it looks. So basically, it was two mistakes by Burgess in the same play.

I would love to see Matos make a statement come summer transfer window and bring in replacements for Cabango and Burgess. I mean it won't happen, but as many have said, this pairing doesn't work. At least with Darling he driven with the ball and had good passing and shot on him. He was far from perfect. But a player Matos would of liked.

How anyone can single Cabango out for being at fault for the opening goal is wide of the mark.

Left or right footed had very little to do with the players inability to prevent the goal it was more their lack of ability and mobility.

You can clearly see from watching the goal back it's Burgess who tells Cabango to stay where he is, we can add decision making to the list of negatives when it comes to Burgess at the moment.

Doubt Matos will be signing our players, he’s the Head Coach. Potentially may ask the club for a loan from Liverpool or something

You need to be an assistant coach to sign our players…

He's a professional footballer so I would expect him to be atleast confident to use his right foot.
I believe the goal highlighted his inability and comfort on his right side.

It was far too easy for Broadband.

Our midfield gets away with a lot at both ends of the pitch.

Everything is blamed on defenders and the wingers. At some point you have to ask what the midfield are contributing where it counts.

Probably where you need an experienced central defender to organize the back for four. I'd expect Burgess to be that player with his experience.

It doesn't matter how many players some people want to throw under the bus the player ultimately at fault for the opening goal was Burgess.

There's lots of focus on this after Friday, but honestly, our defence is not a real area of concern. We're 9th in the league in terms of goals conceded. It gets hyper focus because we score so few goals, especially away from home, that when we concede it's like a cosmic disaster. Can it be improved? of course. We do need depth, particularly at RB and cover for Tymon, but defence is not why we've languished in mid/lower-mid table all season.

Take away Burgess's avoidable blunders, and we would be at least 7 points better off just now.

I think the management team as a whole will sign a player or two that they know and trust. I expect a kid from Liverpool to be part of the summer plans, maybe even Salzburg.
