• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Am I right in thinking he was the first ever Swans player to play for England ?

Obvs not including ex-England internationals like Cally, Emlyn Hughes, Latchford etc...

If he had a brain he could have been one of the best players of his generation. Huge natural talent and an absolute joy to watch when he was on it but not the aptitude to get the best out of the ability he had.

When he used to live in/near Glais he could apparently often be found just having a kickabout on the hard court with the local kids. Just one of those types who matured to a certain point and then stopped. Maybe he's grown up a bit since then.

The most boring tone of voice I’ve ever heard, if you get a chance to listen to a podcast you’ll see what I mean. Talks about his battle with addiction and his obsession with togs (photographic memory of players and what togs they wore).

Fantastic player mind, and scorer of one of the best goals scored by any Swans player.

And here is that goal.

Great memories of that goal. I also remember his winner at Fulham late on around 2013? I happened to be stood right in line with that one and the moment he hit it I knew it was going in the top corner.
Not so fond memories of him at Oxford in the FA Cup.

Not all of the time 😎
I don’t remember seeing this before.

Nowt wrong with that goal, it took some players less time to adapt to VAR than others.

As Winston said above he was one of the most naturally talented players I have ever seen in a Swans shirt, his mentality was his only let down.

I still remember his howler to put Liverpool 2-0 up against us and when we clawed it back to 2-2 his post match interview where he sung his own praises for not letting it get him down. In fairness I think he scored one of the goals in that come back
