And? its been paid so it has to be paid again, no wonder this country is fucked its taxed to death by continuous governments to waste like we are seeing now.

The most taxed nation in Europe and its got worse with this government who said that they won't increase taxes, look at this fuel crisis as an example they are estimated to be raking in 20 million a day in tax revenue on Fuel duty ffs.

The taxpayer in this country is being royally ripped off, by this useless government.

This government haven’t raised fuel duty though. It’s what it was under the previous government.

Whether they should reduce it or not is a different thing.

Actually I think they should introduce a reduction in VAT on fuel. Because the bit that is unfair on everyone is that a huge hike in the cost of fuel results in a huge hike in VAT. Same when the price in the supermarkets goes up as a result of this war then the VAT take goes up (not everything is Vatable in the supermarkets but a lot is).

So they are absolutely raking it in and have the capacity to give some back.

They may well do if this continues but it may not do for much longer.

They save to accrue interest on said savings, but then taxed on that interest so what's the point?

Dear god, fuel prices have gone through the roof, so they could help the consumer buy reducing fuel duty, but no they are sleeping with ear plugs in until September as to when they can hopefully increase the cost of Fuel duty, doesn't really matter that much to me cause I've a company fuel card, but its not about just me,

Same point as there is in going to work and getting taxed on that.

Anyway my good lady kindly took me out for a swift half late afternoon, we popped to Boat Club where I paid £5.05 for a pint of Guinness we moved from there to Pump house where I was charged £6.50 for a Guinness, then went to Queens for a swift one before coming home and paid a fiver for a Guinness

Exploitation at its finest at Pump House, the moral of this story is to stay away from chain establishments.

I know they haven't but their plan as been to increase it in September Its a company vehicle and fuel card so no I don't pay tax on it.
Except my own vehicle which I use once or twice a week at most.

Not getting into this but isn't it something like 40% of the cost of a ltr of fuel is duty which is fing ridiculous.

That’s correct. Too many comparisons are made to the US, and it’s easily forgotten that they don’t have a national health service to fund.
