I'm fed up with the BBC management, too much opinion has crept into the News and Current Affairs. People on both sides of political divide express dissatisfaction. It was not that long ago that guests from both sides of an argument were invited to speak on programmes like the Today Programme and were well ' refereed ' by presenters. Now we get one guest and the presenter offering an opinion more often than not. Impartiality should have been enforced rather than allowed to drift and presenters who are found guilty of bias get big pay rises, a failure of governance at the BBC.

That sounds like swallowing the Tory propaganda about the Beeb to me personally. I'm not the first to say it, but if both sides of the political divide are unhappy with them, doesn't that suggest they're doing things correctly?

As for the OP, the Tories surely had their 'Yeah, but Labour' ready to release as soon as they realised they were in the shit. Politics 101 and yet people still fall for it. Presumably some of these people are also the ones claiming they see the truth about Covid and the rest of us are 'sheeple'.

I'm not a Tory or Labour voter in the last election, both sides may be unhappy because they are not doing things properly. When people who don't follow the impartiality rules repeatedly break them and get a payrise in the same year impartiality needs strengthening.

Impartiality is as subjective as perceived bias.

Johnson's wall already has so much sh!t stuck to it, it's very close to collapsing, and the sooner the better.

He and his staff were working in Durham during an election. They stopped for a meal and then carried on working afterwards. No parties and no hypocrisy.

Innit, like comparing chalk and Cheese (& wine)...

There's a Milton quote there somewhere.

There may well be but it’s true. It’s an abstract and subjective concept. As is bias of course. In the case of the BBC this subjectivity is clearly shown by the fact that both “sides” claim bias against them, often about the same article, programme or report.

Talking of hypocrites Johnson and Gove told people to vote to leave the EU as energy prices would be cheaper as they would cut vat on energy yet Johnson and Gove just voted against cutting vat on energy.

They've all been at it. He was on the TV this morning, and when asked he gave some BS about it being a work meeting. 🤮

And there you are. The Durham police investigated and found nothing wrong. It was an open and shut case and didn't take a year to complete.

Here's a quote from Starmer:

“The restrictions allowed people to work when they needed to. We were running an election campaign, we were in a constituency office.”

He said no restaurants or pubs were open and the hotel in which he and colleagues were staying did not serve food, so “if you didn’t get a takeaway then our team wasn’t eating that evening”.

Asked if he was prepared to apologise, Starmer said: “We didn’t break any rules, we were working in the office and we stopped for a takeaway.”

He added: “We did nothing wrong.”
