• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Gorringe looks as if he might need to up his game in the negotiating department.

According to Sky Sports, we rejected a bid from Wrexham for him in January.

We signed him last July on a 3 year contract with an option of an additional 12 months .

Yes, that option would presumably be our choice so there's plenty of time to run. Good forward planning albeit curious timing. Does he have a release clause maybe that we have tried to negotiate out or higher before the window opens?

There was talks of an improved contract offer in early April for how well he has played in his first year .

Your point re release clause may be what’s driving this. Although that would mean the report re Wrexham being turned down wouldn’t make sense.

If there isn’t one, we have another three years anyway. Forget it for now.

I’d sell him rather than Vipotnik. Trouble is we won’t get anywhere near as much.

For all his reviews, his stats are not particularly good (for either a midfielder or a full back). Compare him to Tymon and he’s well short. Same with Franco.

Premier league interest is probably turning his head. It wouldn't make sense from his pov to restrict himself when he potentially has bigger clubs chasing after him in the summer.

Whilst there are no doubt discussions ongoing that tweet sums up how little journalists know!

He’s already under contract until 2028, with an option of an extra 12 months. They can’t be expected to be taken seriously if they don’t do basic research, and that also shows why supporters shouldn’t get worked up about what they read online until anything is officially announced.

Unless theres a sell on clause in there that means he can go cheap to say a prem club etc.

He did edit the tweet in all fairness since tbf saying that was his current contract.
