• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Flawed methods but got us closer to the play offs than anyone since Cooper. Also delivered the quadruple which for me is one of the more notable things we’ve done since relegation.

The football could be boring and the mistakes frustrating but it wasn’t all bad under him.
It was shit

Could have easily made the play offs if he didn't think he was made of chocolate.

How anyone can saying anything remotely positive about Martin and his methods is beyond me.

He was an arrogant, thin skinned buffoon who wasted two years of our time and resources trying and failing miserably to prove himself the smartest guy in the room.

I wouldn’t have him back here or anything but feel the hate he gets is a bit overblown. Seemed like an alright guy but lacking in a bit of pragmatism when needed. Reminds me of Ange Postecoglu, I can admire the commitment to an ideal but at some point you have to look at the players available and do what makes sense with what you have in front of you.

When the football clicked Martinball could be a delight to watch.

The problem was that it rarely ever clicked and teams learned to just stay compact and tight and wait for the inevitable mistakes that comes from his obsession with possession above all else when defenders play needlessly risky passes to retain the ball instead of getting rid.

If we didn't score early or went behind then it became a 90 minute exercise in frustration and shouting at the players/tv to attack when they were instead happy to play pointless passes from defender to defender to keeper to defender to midfielder to defender to defender

See I agree with you on literally nothing else but you’re bang on here. He’s a massive massive fraud.

Difference between Wuss and Ange is that the brand of football Ange gets his teams playing will win trophies.

Wuss almost relegated Rangers.

I read this earlier and it took me back to his pre and post match interviews and I won't lie, the guy motivated me.
I would reach for the remote as soon as he appeared on the screen and take the dog for a walk. Did wonders for my beer belly. I owe him a lot.

Anyone remember the masterclass he got the club to post on the official website before the Blackburn game we lost 3 nil 🤣

Was it Bristol away that we won and we looked good?
I thought, yes it’s finally clicked and we played well - Only for Martin to be unhappy because the players didn’t play to his system.

It's unclear from this who he's delivering to conduct the master class
The person next to him and then the person behind him, then the person next to them, then the person behind them until the goalkeeping coach takes over.
