• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Never really classed Soton as an unpopular team.
They are certainly becoming unlikeable and a team football supporters will begrudge doing well.

I think there is a real chance they'll be kicked out now imo. Apparently they have been spying on other teams not just Boro.

I wonder if it's the manager who is responsible for this or their hierarchy going to any lengths to achieve promotion.

Surely everyone from management and above must have been in on it even though they will all deny that.

Its the players I feel sorry for they were probably unaware this has been happening and all of their hard work will potentially go to waste.

In the player's defense sometimes the ref blows up and stops play before the player can get to his feet faster than a boxing referee with a ten count
True. Was thinking of the times when players just go down and sit there. The ref stops the game, walks over to them, and they get up 🙄

Also substitutes, having to take off a tracksuit, put a top on, put their boots on, put their shin pads in, remove their jewellery, sort their hair out, wipe their arse and kiss their mum goodbye before being ready to come on. During this time, the game has stopped because the “injured” player is sat down waiting for the sub to be ready. FFS!

Its not like every game they've played this season isn't available in Ultra f**k off High Definition

What advantage did they lose exactly? Its a breach of sportsmanship and nothing else

They shouldn't be removed from final boro had the chance to beat them over 2 legs and couldn't

I do instinctively feel this is a mountain out of a molehill scenario, but it does leave the question of: why do it, then? If it's such a trivial matter, why send someone hundreds of miles to spy on your opposition training sessions knowing it's outlawed if it's so inconsequential?

I would agree if it was just an isolated incident but if they are found to have done multiple times then they absolutely deserve to be kicked out.

It completely calls into question their 18 game unbeaten run and whether they should even be in the play offs to begin with.

Aye, someone tried to convince me something they wanted, and I was blocking, was ‘not that important’. I said, great, don’t do it then. Suddenly ‘well, actually..’

I honestly can’t see what serious gains can be made though. I’ve watched Boro 4 times on the telly since Hellberg rocked up, and they’ve played exactly the same way every time.

Maybe you could see who was practicing penalties to try and get some edge there in case the game goes to pens, maybe learn signals for set-pieces? I agree, it's hard to think of anything major you can get. And it's not as if there's a pool of 300 potential penalty takers, you can scan all the game tape to see where everyone in the opposition squad sticks their penalties regardless.

There have been some scandals in the US over 'spying' in baseball and american football. Those are more set-piece oriented sports where signals and signs to indicate to your team what 'play' you're going to do are a more central element than kicking a ball around in open play, but I'd lean towards it being set-piece related, if anything.

Yeah - does this mean every club who send their coaching staff to their next opponents games can be punished too?
