• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Conversation at the moment about if the Southampton players have a realistic legal recourse to sue the club if it was proven that the club institutionally was involved

It's looking now like the players could take the club to court over loss of earnings and other such things. Soton could crumble under the pressure of their own players and fans.

Couldn't happen to a nicer club

If the FA and/or UEFA/FIFA go after the head coach who it seems may have been the main architect of all this surely his career as a coach will be done

That’s ridiculous. They haven’t been promoted. The club should sue the players for not getting auto.

Think there was a coach of the Canadian women’s team who got a year ban for something similar in the Paris Olympics.

If Southampton were serious about their reasons for appealing - not penalising players, fans etc, they’d have suspended anyone involved already.

Potential earnings are just as claimable in court if you can prove you had a realistic probability of having said earnings. I would suspect that most of the squad would have had promotion bonuses and salary increase clauses build into their contracts.

Being just three games away from promotion at that time they could reasonably argue that the club has failed in their duties as a responsible employer and put their own careers into disrepute just by being associated with the club that was found guilty of cheating by spying on other teams for a competitive advantage.

Manager could be liable for complicity.. because he obviously knew

Hull have beaten them home and away in the regular season.

Interesting though. We have loads of players in that case that could sue the club for appointing Russell Martin.

If Southampton lose their appeal, please, is it going to be a bit awkward for Flynn Downes after his assault against his former club and team mate?

Appeal dismissed

Edit. Just saw JackSomething has already posted

Fully upheld.
Not even the olive branch of the points deduction offered.

Glad to see a strong stance taken.
Some uncomfortable questions are going to be asked in the Southampton board rooms now and I will be surprised if some heads don't roll
