Oh 100%. Prior to Matos, we’d be 2-0 down and it would feel like we weren’t even trying to get a goal back. I’m very positive about Matos and the squad but over the last 20 odd years, we’ve seen success and 2 dangerous wingers were the key outlet for all of our possession.

This is the thing though, Hull are no great shakes but their widemen have scored 17 league goals compared to our 4. If just 4 of those 13 goals diff settled a match, you’re in the play offs.

Loads of possession with Ronald, Eom and Cullen doing almost nothing in attack. We’ve had quite a few of these days. I hate slagging players but if we have play off hopes, it’s not good enough.

3 of them combined have scored 7 league goals in 32 games. Bottom half of the table numbers.

Eom, Ronald and Cullen off asap. We’re not looking like we’re going to hurt them

    New Deal For Jay Fulton

Well done Jay mush! He’s looked like a different player with better players around him and not being shackled to Grimes-ball.

Love it! Compare this to 12 months ago, away at Portsmouth, where the squad looked like lost little boys who just wanted to go home.

I can’t make tomorrow so fully expecting the 5-0 thumping we’ve been waiting to give someone

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

I think we’ll look back at the end of the season and say Ward was a cracking signing. Chap up the pub last night was at the Watford game and said he reminds him of Naughton. With the potential Walta and Nunes have, if we’re thinking the same thing about them, we’ll be right up there.

I added 25 pages to the summer transfer thread for saying that I thought Fulton could still do a job for us if required. Lesson learned.

With Walta coming in, where does that leave Widell? I really rate Melker but after half a season, I have no idea what his best position is supposed to be.

As stupid as this will sound, goals are the difference. Hull’s front 3 are smashing them in. Our numbers don’t deserve a play off spot at the moment. They haven’t for a while.

Their 2 boys that play behind McBurnie have scored 17 goals this season. Ronald and Eom have scored 4.
