    Widdell

Not quite having the impact on goals and assists that we would like yet but his work off the ball is vital to us at the moment for me. I think in general we have a few players like that, we may have to be patient with a few of them, they’re young and still developing.

    Vipi

I think the reason some aren’t sold on him is because he doesn’t tend to create his own space to shoot like Piroe and he’s sometimes late to get on the end of crosses. For me though, the simple truth is we just don’t create enough for him. Finishes like the one against Stoke are few and far...

    Vipi

Personally wouldn’t be letting Vipotnik go if we can help it, unless it was for a an amount we couldn’t refuse. He’s the only consistent source of goals in the squad and I’m not sure I’d want to gamble on finding a goalscorer in the January window.

    Inoussa

I think he could be with the right service. He does miss a few to be fair and he should have had another one against Stoke being put clean through twice. Just looking at it this season though, he’s on 10 in all competitions and we’ve been one of the weaker teams in the league for attacking and...

    Inoussa

He made the difference when he came on, I thought. For me he just needs more game time.

It was probably just me being pessimistic in fairness. With our performance we actually could have gotten something. Agree about us being poor against teams on bad runs, it has been a consistent theme this season. I think we are definitely improving and today was the most threatening we’ve...

To be fair, did anyone really expect much from today? We have a terrible record up there and have lost there with better teams. I personally wasn’t targeting this game for any points, even with the two consecutive wins. I have higher hopes for Wrexham at home and the few home game we have in...

One of the best attacking performances of our season. Frustrating defensively at times but I think we’re improving overall. Stoke have good players despite their recent poor form and are solid defensively, I think we did very well and performances like that should see us safe at the end of the...

We just aren’t capable of putting a full game performance together at the moment. A good 45 today (besides the goal) is progress for me as we’d only put it together for 20 under Matos previously. We’ll have to give some patience and realise that Stoke have players in Thomas and Manhoef that can...

A good half from us, bit sloppy in possession for the goal but still a good finish from their defensive midfielder, he has a lot of work to do. We’ve looked sharper going forward and created 2 really good quality chances through the middle. If we continue playing this way and improving with...

    Eom

I think he’s always had something about him but has been inconsistent like a lot of players. Started last season well enough and was excellent in the last few games when Sheehan took over (I think that’s still been his best form for us.) His injury in preseason probably didn’t help and then...

I can sort of see where you’re coming from but the manager has only had one full week with the players on the training pitch and there won’t have been much opportunity to do much between Oxford and tonight. Things are changing slowly, we had 7 on target tonight and I’d be willing to bet that...

Wanted to Mention Widell, thought he was fantastic tonight. He works tirelessly and seems to me like he wins the ball more often than not. His end product will come, was unlucky not to score tonight. Hope he can nail down a starting spot next to Franco because he needs that run of games.

Brilliant few days for us and Matos. I’ll take that Oxford draw tonight too. Was hard work at times but another clean sheet and +3pts, great finish from Cullen. Think we’ve beaten every team below us bar Charlton (and that could and should have been a win) that surely means we’re better than...

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

Wonder if we’ll go for that Leo Walta, our interest has been confirmed by the player himself. Not seen much of him but scored 16 for Sirius. Would be a welcome boost to goals from the midfield. I know there is scepticism about our overseas recruitment but it’s always a lottery isn’t it.

    Bazball football

I would put any lack of control at the moment down to confidence, we have had very little of it recently. Matos has said we want to control games and I think we’ll see that in time. We’re also not holding on to the ball for the sake of it which means we’re probably going to give it away a bit...

We didn’t have full control of the game but we’ve not had many games under Matos to work on that. I’m sure we’ll see more control, especially in home games. Important that we build up confidence at the moment, control will come when we do that.

The Vigouroux save with his legs and that driving shot of theirs that he had to save near the end will do most of the work for their XG. Ours was low because the only clear cut chance we had was the Stamenic goal. Tymon goal was one in a million. Doesn’t mean we couldn’t have scored more though...

I get what you’re saying, we’ve been poor at chance creation all season and we still aren’t great at it. However, I think we’ll improve on that looking at us today, we already looked more threatening.

Glancing header from Vipotnik in the first half too, keeper scrambled to get across, just went wide.
