Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr
All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.
Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.
It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.
The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.
One of Phil Parkinson's post match comments. Bitingly true unfortunately, it's the way we can often be 🤔..but in fairness to Victor nothing like Russball..
"They like to keep the ball, sometimes they don't do much with it, but they can make you uncomfortable"
Well to be fair we didn't completely fall apart as we would have lost the game if so.
It was fixture management gamble by Matos, which paid off. Yes..just - but it's a new development/learning process. We take it and move on
Well in principle that's right. But "enjoy" - that's relative.
Toshack. Martinez, Rodgers, Laudrup - really enjoyed of course.
In more recent times, Cooper and (start) Sheehan - tolerable
Russell Martin - purgatory ( closely followed by Luke Williams/ Michael Duff). Tbh I nearly gave up...
Well I stand corrected then on your stats. Though from my limited view on Rugby I just recall being enthralled by the likes of Barry John or Jonathan Davies spontaneously gliding through defences, pure art.
I also attended one (and only) Ospreys game several years ago. Shane Williams was...
You make some good points - but for me the baseline level has CHANGED not necessarily IMPROVED. Fitness, nutrition improved yes, but quality of the actual football game/skills I think not, certainly at the higher level. You can tinker with tactics all you like, they are often cyclic, but the...
I just noticed that you were comparing our current 2026 team with the 1981 Toshack Team. Now maybe there is a more of an argument to be made when referring to the Rodgers 2011 team for comparison.
But I really don't think the 1981 absolute quality team would be comfortably beaten by our CURRENT...
Yes, I know what you are saying, but my fun hypothetical take was to look at the innate abilities of the 1981 players and assume that they too were well versed in current tactics, were stronger and fitter etc.
Was there anyone in the 2011 side for example - all things being equal and looking at...
Just for fun, I've been thinking about SeaJack's excellent nuanced viewpoint about different pitches, heavier ball etc in 1981 (Toshack) compared to the sleek surfaces, fitter players etc in 2011 (Rodgers). Each team had tremendous players and it's difficult to make comparisons for SeaJack's...
Maybe I am a bit sometimes when I have a clear view about some things, but overall on this Board you're the definite last word winner, I concede to your determination and consistency 😂
Go on, see if you can break your routine - I dare you not to reply 😛
Nah. Overwhelm - I'm still not having it. Let's say " in the end the superior fitness of Brendan's team would tell, but only so far as equalising the earlier 2 -0 score of Tosh's quality team"
F1 is all about speed. No comparison to the vagaries of a football match with the quality Tosh's...
Last word proven 😂😂
Ok then let's carry on a bit more 😊
Fitter def. Come the 90 min mark, my score was 2-2. Two nil Tosh half time.
But you discount the quality of Tosh team at your peril. The players of the ilk of Curt, Robbie, Leighton, Jimmy , Jeremy etc had the skill and quality to...
We don't both know it is. In my opinion overwhelm doesn't come into it. In yours it does. Opinions is all. But go on...I'll let you have the last word next. Your track record shows you gotta have it 😂😂
Yes, but overwhelm is what I was querying. Though with Curt, Robbie, Leighton and Latchford in full flow first half, Tosh could well be 2 nil up 😊
Ok I'll go for 2-2 full time. Loved both teams 😍
