• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

Yes I agree with first para. Not sure about overwhelm though 🤔 But pound for pound quality of players, I think the Tosh team just edges it over Brendan But I count myself very lucky to have seen both. Plus the Laudrup team

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

It's 1982 versus 2010. Not that far apart, not like looking at the 1950's def slow motion. Of course, yes, I loved both but it would have been a close (hypothetical) encounter. And btw Curt, Robbie, Leighton and Jimmy, just to mention a few, were hardly slow motion. Having said that, slow...

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

So here's another thought when talking equivalence. Yes money wise different ball game between Premier and Division 1. But how about a comparison between Tosh's Div 1 team and Brendan's Prem team. I've seen both - and both were great. But if they played each other, I'd say the Tosh team...

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

An interesting thought. I haven't the details to hand but when Brendan took us up, how many of the promotion team carried on into the Prem. Looking at our current squad, and just say we fluked a play off, plus a Final win, I can only think that Vigouroux, Galbraith and maybe Tymon would cut...

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

Well, yes Brendan is great of course, but don't forget Tosh who got us to sixth in the first season up there. We also topped the table a few times in the campaign. I'm not saying you, but a lot think football started in the Premier era. Division 1 was the equivalent, under a different name is all.

I accept the change. I'm not going to embrace it though. Let's agree to disagree as you and I have done in the past 😊

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

Yep ..but this ruins it even more for me. Sorry, 7th and 8th a complete 👎

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

We had a pretty decent team going up. Plus in the last 6 or so years the gap between Prem and Championship is HUGE

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

Likely I said, not automatic. Bottom line I just don't favour the 7th and 8th change. Makes a mockery of merit. Money making. Why not down to 10th, usually only a few points off 8th. Just my view is all.

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

Of course, I'd completely get caught up in the excitement, I'm a football fan...but the heart rules the head in those moments. My head now says a team finishing eighth will likely get nuked in the Prem. No thank you to the humiliation is all.

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

Fair points...but Sunderland built virtually a new team. Burnley had 100 points and are going back down. Cannon fodder for me is probably an understatement - rather an eighth team getting NUKED in the Prem. !! I'm talking Derby unwanted record stuff. To get a promotion I'd like us to be...

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

If be absolutely pig sick though if we finished third and the eighth team fluked a win in the 95th minute of the final, because of injuries, say, to our key players. Finishing eighth and being promoted doesn't sit well with me is all. Even if it were us I'd dread the Premier step up...

6 Clubs in the Play-Offs from Next Season 2026/27

Seems to me it devalues the merit of promotion if whoever finishes eighth gets there. Even more likely to be a Sunday league outfit in the Prem. It's just a cup competition season end, anything could happen over just a few games. Fluke goal, poor ref etc etc. 46 games should be the leveller...

    Colours Nailed and all that

Nor me ! Hence my reference to this thread going round in circles. We're mid table. Wait for next season. And hope for better I agree with this too. But a lot of personal angst seems to be coming out on this thread. Pointless.

    Colours Nailed and all that

Is it just me, or is this thread now going around in circles. Bottom line is we will likely finish mid table. That's it. Then Summer review. Hopefully some quality in - defence, midfield, attack 😊. Plus some obvious suspects out. Though possibly a profit on some we may not really want to...

This sums up where we are tbh

    Colours Nailed and all that

Agree ! And even against PNE, the poor first 45 mins got sorted at half time by him.

    Colours Nailed and all that

Unfair on Sheehan that. Luke Williams. Michael Duff. Russell Martin ( for sheer boredom)

The absolute minimum in the Premier League..not 40 but...

..12 points. And Wolves have done it. Relegation is one thing .. but getting only 10 points or less is a total disaster. Derby's unwanted record must be soul destroying for their fans. Each year they pray for a Wolves or Southampton. When we next get there, 12 is the first target - then 36 (...

Blimey, if those stats are true, I'll take back what I said. Which games are those ?
