Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr
All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.
Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.
It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.
The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.
Yes you're right, as it happens some of our fans did stand on seats and the Utd fans behind were going nuts. It is a stupid viewing area for them tbf. Funny as f**k though 😂
I seem to recall in the away end at Old Trafford, I was at one the rear seats in row Z, and right at the back of us were United fans behind glass screens, watching the game 🤔. Right bunch of wankers they were too until Gylfi scored 😂
But was that glass screen there anyone - have I got it wrong ..??
Nor will it define our season either. I'm pretty neutral about it tbh. The only pity for me is that it involved extra time, though thankfully we have some time before next game. We move on, it's better than a loss or draw in the league. That's the continuing priority, but a decent/ consistent...
I know they weren't out of contract as such, but better than the £ obscene-thousands a week like Bony and Ayew oldies. This tbh, a no brainer for me for 6 months like Whale etc has said
Very sad news. Along with Chivers. And Keegan - but 🤞for Kev.
It occurred to me that these three names drew instant memories and knowledge for me.
I'm getting old I know, but I wondered what these names meant to "youngsters" (and above) on this Board 🤔. I don't know the demographics of this...
While we're a bit left field here, I recall a cracking post from cmajack on Matos' appointment :
He said '"My wife (not a football fan) has a good feeling about him. She said, 'he's got a pleasant little face'. So onwards and upwards then "
Later I asked cmajack, what's Mrs cmsjack verdict now...
Nice summary, and that of Vetchonian.
I also like the " we're all more or less violently agreeing" 😂
As the OP it's been a good debate this one.
Though I think we can leave it for now. Next Matos review I reckon, once we've hopefully achieved guaranteed safety 🤞
Leaving aside the views of us fans on Matos, BBC pundit Iwan Roberts has weighed in with his take - and believes that while it Swansea have won five of their last eight games under Matos, that it's still wise to reserve judgement on the Portuguese boss.
"I can see what Vitor Matos is trying to...
I was going to mention being at the Arsenal 32,700 game at the Vetch ( sardines ain't in it on the North Bank 😂)..but then I double- checked and it was the fourth round 😊
Still, an experience never to be forgotten
Yes, but as in all walks of life some people do their jobs much better than others. Teachers are a good example, got great ones and poor ones. Bottom line is Vigoroux is saving our season.
Well, yes I know what you mean about the barren years of old 😊 ... but a youngster aged say 9 in 2016 starting out watching the Swans, will have seen some awful boring stuff for the subsequent 10 years. I don't recall being bored in the barren years, frustrated yes, but the object in the main...
Tbh as a similar septuagenarian, I take great comfort from having seen two golden eras.
I can though live without a third, however nice it would be ..but it's for the youngsters I really hope that the good times come again. Nothing of real note since around 2016 (apart from the awful play off...
Snappy easy headline reply I suppose, with little thought - but...
Being realistic is assessing a situation rationally and managing expectations.
Being negative is assessing the same situation irrationally and expecting the worst outcome..or conversely - with irrationality especially - a...
..with the current squad. To be fair he's changing the culture but surely there's only so much he can do with the current players at his disposal ?
A few on here recently were eyeing the play offs 🤔.
No way without some better quality in, and mediocre/poor out. Gonna have to wait for the...
