Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr
All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.
Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.
It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.
The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.
I made this exact point on social media & I was called everything from fickle to entitled. Some people are just blind to what's in front of them. The club still have a lot of hard work to do to convince fans to come to games. One successful transfer window isn't going rebuild that relationship.
Plenty of discussion online as to why people are still staying away.
IMO, the ticketing (inc advertising of tickets) and the overall match day experience still has a lot of work to do to win back the casual fan.
The timing of that international break was so annoying.
Apart from the Stamenic injury & Burgess and Vigs travelling so much, we luckily had a lucky escape.
Sheehan will need a few weeks of the whole squad together training before (hopefully) we see a cohesive side
Of course it has - the Championship has been so open the last few years - anyone down to mid table could have snuck in the play offs right up until the last few games.
Loads more teams will feel they have a chance.
Personally, I'd scrap the playoffs & just have the top 3 go up.
Never sat right...
Agree with you Phil. A piece of paper says we missed the playoffs by two wins.
Reality is very, very different.
The December (?) defeat to Portsmouth had us going down & forced us to change.
Saying we finished within two wins of the payoffs does not cover up a largely horrific season.
A) That Australia kit is horrific.
B) Apart from Burgess (who I didn't know was Aussie when we signed him) - I don't know one player in that squad. Thought they usually have a few standouts?
I don't get why the Council & the Club don't work together on this.
I used to be in the commercial dept. in the Council and there was little or no dialogue between the club (or the Ospreys for that matter) and the Council. You'd think it would have been of mutual benefit to advertise tickets...
On a twitter post Ginnelly announced that he's 9 months fit.
Begs the question why he wasn't given a chance - by Williams or Sheehan. Or even a loan to prove himself.
