• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Club accounts

They are yes. But a company discloses any material (significant) changes that have happened between year end and the date of signing the accounts. In certain circumstances they adjust their accounts (known as a post balance sheet event) but in general they sing any positive changes from the...

    Club accounts

I added the following to my previous post: “ Edited to add: this doesn’t mean that this stuff isn’t being planned for, it is just very odd that no mention is made. It may just be that the Americans are less used to being transparent in a set of financial statements. Which they will need to come...

    Club accounts

The financial statements are now available on the Companies House website. What hit me was how bizarrely downbeat the whole document is. No stated ambition other than staying in the championship and becoming more self sustaining. Lots about how difficult that is. Lots about player contracts...

    Table since Matos took over

Completely agree with your second part. Let’s hope the club get a recruitment system in place soon.

    Ok, I'll say it.

I also think he’s doing the same role as Franco. Who has 3 goals and 4 assists, highlighting the issue with Widell. And actually scoring as opposed to nearly scoring is the difference between good players and not good players. As I said, he needs to improve next season.

    Table since Matos took over

As I said in my post I fear that we can’t find a way of getting past the better teams. You are just confirming that? I also think he’s doing ok. But no more than that at the moment. My hope is that he does better with his choice of new players. My worry is this - we recruited him (apparently...

    Table since Matos took over

Leicester are going down so an odd point to make.

    Table since Matos took over

The second point you make undermines the first though! I’m hoping your view is the case btw. I’m fearing to be honest that it’s because we are playing better teams and can’t find a way of getting past them.

    Ok, I'll say it.

If neither of them are playing well he could always change shape…

    Table since Matos took over

Further to my post in this thread about our form really dropping off as the season goes on: Last six games we are now 20th. Last ten we are 13th. It’s not great. Next season we can judge properly, but we are a long way off where we need to be at present.
  11. L

    Ok, I'll say it.

Hopefully. As I said in the post about him earlier: “And I like him as a player, but we have to start producing an end product if we want to achieve anything at all. Widell needs to substantially improve next season. As do many” I stand by that.
  12. L

    Ok, I'll say it.

Of course. But it’s not unreasonable to expect more than one assist and no goals from a player that has been playing a position in the team where climbing trees is pretty much the primary aim. If your point is that the club have signed a stupid number of fish and no one capable of climbing a...

    Ok, I'll say it.

It’s not a case of random websites though. The stats are the stats. They’re a matter of fact. We paid a decent sum for Widell and he’s contributed 1 assist and no goals this season. That’s not good enough. It would be different if he was a teenager that we paid a quarter of a million for. Like...

    Ok, I'll say it.

The main argument for neither Widell nor Galbraith being the young player of the season is they’re both way too old for it. Widell is 24 and Galbraith is about to turn 25. The only players we have that could be considered young players are Parker and Yalcouye,

Who owns the Pump House? Is it still Brains? Always was expensive in there.

Yes, I’ve noticed. But the government haven’t increased fuel duty which is what I said. It’s the same as it was under the last government. Surely you don’t want that fuel card as you pay tax on it (using your previous argument that once there’s tax there’s no point).

What’s the point in saving more than £20k per annum because you pay tax on it? Lol. Same point as there is in going to work and getting taxed on that. It’s to provide services like pensions, NHS, schools, social care, roads, the army, welfare payments etc etc etc.

This government haven’t raised fuel duty though. It’s what it was under the previous government. Whether they should reduce it or not is a different thing. Actually I think they should introduce a reduction in VAT on fuel. Because the bit that is unfair on everyone is that a huge hike in the...

Well if you acknowledge that tax hasn’t been paid on the interest previously then what’s the problem? You said savers were being ‘hammered’ but now you agree they’re not?
  20. L

    Keir Starmer

Yeah, sorry, you’re right. I was thinking it had just come in this month but it’s delayed. So £20k a year savings then is tax free for now.
