• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

Whose position does he take in our first 11? Looks great from those YouTube highlights. Looks a mix of Galbraith & Widell I still think we should be pushing for a right back to get Galbraith in the 8/10 position, but perhaps this signing would suggest we are looking to keep Galbraith at RB...

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

Huw Jenkins mentioned when we were in League 1/2 that we always struggled to convince players to make the journey down here when they had options more central to London I think this may be more of a problem with loaning players - players who may be looking for the best short term solution for...

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

I personally would have rather recalled Bianchini than Cooper from their loans He won’t be a world beater but I think Matos style may suit Bianchini who was decent in press

    Some thoughts after yesterday’s game

I thought Inoussa looked a promising buy in the first 5/10 games of the season. He was having an impact from the bench and looked sharp and skillful. Hes not really kicked on at all He’s probably the only player I think has gone backwards under Matos

    New Chelsea manager is

Hull were mad to sack him He’s progressed well every season as a Manager and think he will have a great future career. He said in the past Swansea philosophy has influenced him. Would have been a good appointment after Luke Williams Not sure he’s right for Chelsea though. They are trying to...

    Form Table

Those draws against Watford, Hull & Millwall don’t look too bad looking at the current league table. I said at the time Watford & Hull both looked useful and a point in each game were good results for us

    Sheehan

Would be a good caretaker option for them until the end of the season.

    Widdell

He’s lightweight and gets knocked off the ball too much This is something that can be worked on and like EOM has shown this season, it may take him a season or two before we see a more complete player

Overnight M4 closure alerts tonight from 20.00 to 6.00

Got a long drive back to Watford tonight after the game so hoping the team put me in a good mood ready for the drive back

    Matos’ Staff in Swansea

It seemed to take Middlesborough 2 weeks to get Hellberg & his staff officially confirmed so this would give a baseline how long the process takes

    New manager assistants

Also I think since brexit the terms/conditions that work permits are granted have changed

    John Eustace

Would have been a great appointment few years back for us He’s gone under the radar a little bit- doing well at Derby getting them into the playoff spots and also got both Blackburn & Birmingham into the play off places last few seasons If I remember correctly there was plenty of people...

Vitor Matos Named Swansea City Boss as New Era Begins at the Swansea.com Stadium

I appreciate he needs time - but our next 5 matches we need to be picking up as many points as we can to ensure we aren’t dragged into a relegation battle post new year. They are winnable games against teams we should be beating. We have a tough fixture list in January/February and a poor...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Someone on twitter says Matos has done his coaching badges with Allen recently at FAW so maybe not such a odd link

Vitor Matos Arrives in Swansea: A Club at the Crossroads

I would guess we are going to keep O’Leary & Margeston. The other 2 brought in last summer (Spearman & O’Dea) I think will leave as they were brought in as direct assistants to Sheehan Margetson has always been thought highly of & he seems to have done a good job with our first choice keepers...

    O Dea

I wonder if we’ve done a u-turn on Matos and decided to look elsewhere. If we were close to appointing Matos surely the statement would read that o’Dea would be interim for the weekend. The fact they’ve left it quite open ended suggests we may not have decided on the new manager yet

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Hit the nail with this one. We had already spoken with Hellberg before sacking Sheehan and were confident of getting him. People thinking we should have 4 or 5 options as a backup of the same quality are deluded. For all we know Matos may be 5th choice and we’ve been knocked back by all...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Interesting to read that he did his coaching badges with the FAW in 2024 - same time as Sheehan I believe I would guess our paths have crossed during this time and this is where the initial connection has been made. Lots of risk but I think his knowledge of the British game & championship is...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Looks like we are trying to push through to get this announced for the weekend. I would assume he won’t be in the dugout for Saturday unless we can fast track a visa.

Is Vitor Matos the Right Fit for Swansea City? The Case for Patience

The club during the Martinez days was completely different to now. The expectations were fairly low (I know we got to the playoffs with Jackett but we weren’t expected to be contenders). Our most recent managers at the time were Kenny Jackett (previously an assistant at QPR), Brian Flynn (only...
