• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

People, I did say earlier that I wasn't going to think about what impact a 4-0 win (say, to take one example at random) might make to our league position as even thinking such thoughts is directly related to whether we win (or more likely) lose.

Got to respect that commitment. Plus naming your club after an Addams Family icon is so cool. Shame we didn’t get Cardiff Fester.

I am not going anywhere near that league table til the match is over. Lost count of the number of times I’ve calculated how many places we could climb with a win against a struggling team, only to get bitten. Ignorance, for once, is bliss

In parts of the Indian sub-continent, the letter V is pronounced like the English W, so there I would be driving a WeeWee Golf.

So I drive a VeeVee?

Interesting. I have a soft spot for both Upton Park (but not the new stadium) and Anfield, as two of the grounds where I have seen the Swans applauded off the pitch by the home fans. (I’ve also seen some appalling behaviour by fans of both clubs so I do know what you mean.) And I very much agree...

Coventry is in the West Midlands, despite being further east than Derby. So you could also add Birmingham and West Brom to that list of obnoxious supporters. Never had a reason to dislike Villa, Walsall or Wolves. I wonder if that is because their supporters are less entitled or because we have...

Awesome post, thanks Lisa. Rethinking my summer holiday plans now in light of that shocking news on the euro/sterling exchange rate.

Yes, those two away games will be interesting. Definitely hoping to get to the Ipswich match 🤞

Second best for this particular run of games? Either way it’s an encouraging stat. I was starting to get a bit frustrated at the way we seem to be stuck in a range of 8-10 points off the play-offs and the same for the relegation zone. Still enjoying the football, though, which is the main thing.

It did feel like Watford gave up by the end. Their mascot spent most of the last quarter sitting by their drum looking miserable. Inasumuch as you can tell what a furry hornet is feeling. To be fair their mascot did applaud us at the end, although there was no one else left in the ground by...

Looking forward to this game. It’s a lovely day here in London, we’ve sold our allocation and then some, and we have the quality to come away with at least a point. Then again, my blinkers about the squad this season makes Shallow Hal look like a realist.

Just checked in for the first time tonight so I’ve only read the last two pages of this thread. Good job I knew we were 3-1 up because reading the last few posts I’d have assumed we were scraping a 0-0 draw. Cheer up!

I did and he was. He did have his arm around the defender but no way was it 50:50 (like the Sky commentator insisted).
