• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Domestic games to be played abroad

Wrexham no doubt will be well in favour of the option especially when you consider their turnover of £30M last season and the crowds being drawn to their summer friendly matches in the USA. Our owners no doubt are looking to expand their sponsorship opportunities abroad and they, like so many...

    Less entitlement and more encouragement

How long did Coventry take to head the league table? Some need to realise that irrespective of spending cash and bringing in a large percentage of players every season there has to be a period where players need to be bedded down to the system of play and capabilities of players. It only happens...

From Liberty to Injustice; the solution to the Championship’s referee woes?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-15141867/INSIDE-SPORT-Welcome-VAR-roadshow.html And they think its going to work! The incompetency has drifted down to all EFL levels and what they(PGMO) have done is pass on an initial honest decision by a referee to a computer in Stockley Park.

    Alan Sheehan.

For whatever reason it appears we have become a soft touch in defence as the clock winds down to the end of the first half and full time. Where has our discipline gone, our hard nosed defenders, our professionalism in setting up to defend set pieces. Could Larry have come off his line to punch...

From Liberty to Injustice; the solution to the Championship’s referee woes?

The worrying aspect for me is how referees and officials in general are being promoted to the top tier, fast tracked far too early in their refereeing career. Our opening fixture at Boro was refereed by Fari Hallam who had officiated in a handful of game in the Championship the previous season...

From Liberty to Injustice; the solution to the Championship’s referee woes?

there is also an interpretation problem within VAR especially over handball that is nowhere near being settled.

    Adam Idah 40k a week.

It suits some followers to exaggerate anything let alone pull rumours off dodgy sources, this is the world we are living in unfortunately. Scroll pass is my advice.

From Liberty to Injustice; the solution to the Championship’s referee woes?

With the amount of cash floating around the Championship VAR has to come, like it or lump it. Its not perfect but 99% of the decisions like the disallowed goal at Brum should be sorted.

A Quiet January, Hodge Circling, Idah on £40k? Swansea’s Transfer Strategy Just Got More Interesting

A remarkable turnround should Hodge return but the one thing is for sure is that in the last couple of seasons Hull have never shirked from spending cash and been able to attract experienced professionals and no doubt Swans would have to match that ambition.

Alan Sheehan on Birmingham City | Reaction

I noticed Santos played 45 minutes on Saturday v Bristol City so where does he fit in. Just a squad player or is Sheehan going to put out a back three of Cabango, Santos and Burgess.

Alan Sheehan on Birmingham City | Reaction

Looking back to the game we were desperate in the last 20 minutes for somebody in midfield to hold onto the ball, but when a referee fails in letting the game flow the result was the percentage possession gradually tilted to the home team. Looking back to the damage Patrick Roberts made in the...

Alan Sheehan on Birmingham City | Reaction

Decision making in football can be extremely marginal especially in player recruitment and when one looks at strikers like Kone and McBurnie who are both finding the net regularly at QPR and Hull one wonders what we will get from Idah as at the moment he has done very little on the ball let...

    Potter and Martin Tapping Out

Potter inherited a squad of players that needed to be taken off the club's wage bill when he arrived and one by one they left. For every one you say bored the life out of them there were far more who appreciated his style of play. Chelsea was a poor decision by him to take a job at a club that...

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Birmingham City 1 Swansea City 0 | Att: 27,441 | The EFL Championship | St Andrew’s Stadium

Its not defeatist its a more realistic attitude of how good we actually are in comparison to so many clubs in the Ch'ship who are prepared to throw millions at getting into the PL. As for naming Forest, just look back at the millions they spent in bulking up their squad for promotion under...

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Birmingham City 1 Swansea City 0 | Att: 27,441 | The EFL Championship | St Andrew’s Stadium

What are posters aspirations this season - for me I would prefer to cement ourselves in a top ten place, work to continue with our excellent summer recruitment programme and move on from there. Having said that, should we find ourselves challenging for a P/Off place come next season, go for it.

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Birmingham City 1 Swansea City 0 | Att: 27,441 | The EFL Championship | St Andrew’s Stadium

Swans were the only team who played football in first half, a clear goal ruled offside, but once the momentum of the game changed to a stop, start, stop start affair it suited the home team. Possibly, the subs could have been changed earlier, or even when Ronald tangled with Cochrane where...

    Žan Vipotnik - Swansea’s Number 9

I think that most fans and even our coaching staff have realised that Fisher is never going to be a number 1 keeper for the Swans under the current coaching staff and as such will most probably be allowed to walk away(unless of course he moves in January) at the end of the season. He saw us...

    Žan Vipotnik - Swansea’s Number 9

Widell is slowly getting used to the frenzied at times pace of the EFL and from his arrival from the bench v Forest I believe he is going to develop into another shrewd signing. What I like about him is that he possesses pace, likes a tackle and doesn't shirk from the physical side of the game...
