• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

    Lee Bracey heroics

Was great seeing that Liverpool team close up at that time. Barnes was at his prime then, and probably the best player in the league at the time. Though Des Trick at right back, had him in his pocket that day!

    Match Day Programme ,

Are we the only club who’ve gone digital with the match programme? I’m as guilty too, got programmes from 1985 to mid 2010s. Three bin bag fulls! Wonder if they’ll become collectors items later on?

    Lee Bracey heroics

They battered us, but Keith Walker nearly won it for us near the end. If that had gone in, surely it would’ve been one of the biggest cup upsets

Brazilian Gustavo Nunes Signs on Loan from Brentford.

That can’t be right. A winger with pace who can take players on?? That’s not our normal type of signing.

    Terry Yorath RIP

TheFA cup game in February against hull cost us massively that season. Dudley Lewis god bless him broke his leg from a Frankie Bunn challenge Up until then we were riding high and defensively sound His absence was the catalyst for a remarkable collapse

    Terry Yorath RIP

Gutted with this. He was the manager when I first started watching the swans. If he hadn’t left for Bradford in Feb of 88/89 season, I’m convinced we’d have got promoted from the old 3rd. RIP Terry and condolences to the family

    FA Cup Third Round Memories

West Brom home Jan 10th 1987. A 3-2 win in an end to end game. 1-0 down after 5 mins, and a Sean McCarthy winner on 89. Surely someone must have tv footage of that somewhere.

What are we really expecting from Matos....

Quality of the championship is of a poor standard this season. Or more of a level standard I should say There’s not one outstanding side With this squad, I must confess I was optimistic of a play off push. When you see the likes of Millwall, Preston and Hull up there, without being entitled we...

Are they out? Normally are this time of year, unless I’ve missed the communication.

    The press and the passion

He sprinted back and put that block in on the West Brom player by the East then gave them a fist pump. After that he was knackered for a few minutes and couldn’t run, nor clear the ball from our area properly!

Was it the then manager, the club or the city he didn’t like?

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

With it opening imminently, where do we need to strengthen? For me, a right back is a big priority. Galbraith has done well there, but it takes out what he offers in the middle of the park. Although to be fair, midfield have done well since Matos has come in. And with Idah out, maybe a striker...

Depends where you go. I found them far more friendly in New York as opposed to Dallas when I went.

    Strange decision?

And I see the top division Boxing Day fixtures aren’t no more apart from Man U. What happened to that tradition?

    Strange decision?

I’ll always remember one year in the 80s, we played Cardiff away on the Boxing Day, then had Hereford Utd home on the 27th. How things have changed.

    Strange decision?

For the EFL to have fixtures on Monday 29th Dec which is a working day over the holiday period. Would loved to have gone to Oxford for the away fixture, but work commitments prevent me from doing so. Surely they could’ve pencilled in Sunday 28th as a date?

McClean kicking Ronald in the back of the head

Don’t forget the tossers in the east stand with the Ulster flag. What’s that all about? Fckin embarrassing
