• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Josh Key

I got warm and fuzzies with Josh when he received that nasty cut to his foot and was desperate to play on. That shows character. Yes his positional sense is terrible but so was (and maybe still is) Tymon - but Tymon showed that you can improve this element of your game with hard work - and...

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

One thing that has been obvious to me - and we can debate the subjective merits of individual players - is that Matos and his coaching tem seem to be improving individual players, and we are squeezing more quality out of players who have been terrible under previous regimes. 1. Fulton (I would...

    The Ashes 2025/26

The only preparation were one day games in New Zealand. These were taken that seriously that the captain was exchanging slaps with a bouncer in the middle of the night on the day before one of these games. You can argue all you like that. This team is well led and has a winning culture. The...

    Trumper

I live right across the river from Detroit and get the daily diet of US media served up. For thise that have not travelled extensively in the United States, you would be shocked at the general level of education. Coupled with this as a culture that portrays America has the centre of the...

    Joel Ward

I agree with Andrew that signing a creative player looks a higher priority..BUT I am guessing they think they have that creative player - but he has been stuck filling the right back berth through lack of a decent RB. If we can solidify the RB position - maybe this will add to the team as a...

What are we really expecting from Matos....

I find the comparison with shovelling all your chips onto red and spinning the wheel as a comparison with appointing a new manager a little bit bizarre. Even with a short track record - you can see the characteristics of a person, the philosophy of a person, their qualities as a leader, their...

What are we really expecting from Matos....

If we had a cutting edge up front we would be playoff contenders. We are defensively decent by all metrics (dont fall for recency bias and quote the Milwall game) We are also getting our wide men into excellent positions to create chances. However, this is where the wheels fall off. On both...

Disagree - this can be a money spinner - and we need all the ammunition we can get for squad strengthening 👍

The Milwall left back by coincidence came out of the Chelsea academy after a loan (i think Sturges is his name) He was fantastic

Our success might depend on a strong ref. With our midfield racing around the pitch a cracking way to combat it is to get physical and “leave a bit on them” Similarly i really hate that cunt Cooper at the back - a few early yellow cards and we may completely over run them👍

Sums up the championship - in a nutshell. 16 points between play offs and relegation - all to play for!

    Yalcouye and widdel

Great options - Widell work rate is inspirational and Yalcouye just glides around the pitch. The first half pressing against WBA left them completely at a loss of how to cope.

    The press and the passion

Shout out to Josh Key - he was so VERY desperate to contribute he played about 10 minutes with a hole in his foot - Now that is the kind of attitude we need - Good on you Josh!!

Just take a moment to celebrate Vitor Matos Incredible pressing Defensive stability (Only 1 own goal in 4 home wins with 3 clean sheets) Good use of the bench (managing in games) Visibly improving his players individually (Key Yalcouye and Fulton being just 3 examples) Club is obviously united...

    Jay Fulton

Love him or hate him - here are two conflicting objective facts 1 Grimes is skippering the runaway leaders of ouf league - and plays every minute 2 The cash we received for selling Grimes almost exactly covered yhe cost of buying both of Stamenic and Galbraith The band aid needed to be ripped...

Grabbing for positive thoughts - we have added a lot of fresh ish high energy players to take on an older and fatigued WBA - on paper we dont look as strong - but these games aren’t played on paper COYS!!

Last thought - and mabe one for the VM Thread.. I literally shit myself when Josh Key came on - but his positioning was so much better than what we have seen. Very small cameo - but are our coaches actually coaching and improving our players??
