• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

    Senedd Election 2026

I love how this thread went boxing without so much as a by your leave. I will miss this forum for exactly that reason.

Old friends over the Rainbow Bridge thread 🌈

My boy Archie lived to the grand old age of 16, he very nearly made 17 the cantankerous old bugger. I’ve no idea how to put a photo on here but we lost him in 2022 and I still miss him like mad. He is “survived” by his “brother” Jasper who is three now and an absolute fucking menace 🧡

Germany To Be Ruled By France

Well I’m with you on the whole daffodil hat thing but that’s a very different point to your original “not proper Welsh if you don’t speak the language” one.

Germany To Be Ruled By France

Boiling an entire national identity down to the ability to speak a language is bizarre and you know it. All those plastic yanks speaking English ffs. Traitors.

Germany To Be Ruled By France

The implication being a “plastic patriot” is someone who doesn’t speak Welsh? If so that is quite bizarre thinking.

Germany To Be Ruled By France

The U.K. is doomed in its current form. It can’t and won’t continue as it is. It’s an anachronism and becomes more of one with every passing devolved election. An independent Wales and Scotland as part of a loosely federal U.K. and a member of the EU. It’ll take another generation or so probably...

    What are Reform policies

It’s happened today. More than once.

Swansea Council Strimming Smashes Car Window

Yup. They’ll end up settling. This sort of thing happens all the time.

    Senedd Election 2026

For all the talk of the Reform triumph across the border in the council elections…

    Senedd Election 2026

I think whether you view yesterday’s results as positive or negative depends on whether you’ve accepted the rise or Reform or not. I have because it’s happened. They’ve essentially replaced the Tories as the main “right wing” party in this country (the UK). They’re basically cunts but they are...

I Oh right. I was in FPTP rant mode. My bad. 😂

    Senedd Election 2026

Is Belgium failing in any way because of being apparently perpetually hung? Ooerr. I’ve been there many times. Seems to be functioning well enough to me. Look I get your point but if, as you say you are, you’re an advocate of PR then that has to come with an acceptance that majority government...

    Senedd Election 2026

I’m Of course it would work. It works in scores of mature democracies worldwide. I’ve been an advocate of PR for years so we’re agreeing. Not sure why you’re trying to argue about it.

    Senedd Election 2026

But then they’d be in charge and benefiting from it so I doubt they’d be up for biting the hand that fed them. The exact reason as to why neither Labour nor the Tories have changed it for the last 150 years. The catalyst will be when a party wins a plurality of votes by some margin but fails to...

    Senedd Election 2026

Well yes. It would have to. Imagine a result where a party has 400 out of 650 seats in the legislature on 33% of the vote. What an affront to democracy that would be. Hang on, you don’t have to imagine it. It happened on 4 July 2024.

Also that 🇬🇧 fella elsewhere is getting a bit snippy. Pipe down ya thick minge and start learning to read road signs.

    Senedd Election 2026

A simple act of parliament could change the system to a properly proportional one for UK elections. That could easily be done in time for 2029. It won’t be though.

    Senedd Election 2026

Separatist parties are now governing Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Now I’m not suggesting that a majority in any of those nations/regions want to break away from the UK at this point. But it’s very clearly only a matter of time.

    Senedd Election 2026

The UK electoral system needs to catch up now. It was never fit for purpose but it suited the two party hegemony. That model now seems to be dead and first past the post needs to die with it.
