Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr
All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.
Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.
It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.
The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.
Michu would be interesting. Has had the DoF job at Burgos for 7 years, built a squad that got them out of the Spanish 3rd Division. By all accounts has a huge say in everything. The level is obviously a lot lower than ours. I don’t think it’s quite the same thing hiring executive level staff...
BBC saying we are close to appointing a new DoF. Should find out who it is before the end of the season then. Bet half the people on this board already know who it is 😂
We need to appoint someone with experience as a DoF and not someone who has a previous connection with anybody at the club. Tom Gorringe can stay doing the commercial side of things. Worrying the amount of turnover we have off the pitch. These owners have the right intentions but they need to...
My initial post about Millwall was actually wrong, it was a couple of seasons ago they finished 13th, last season they finished 8th.
24/25: 8th
23/24: 13th
22/23: 8th
21/22: 9th
20/21: 11th
19/20: 8th
That’s a pretty consistent pattern. For me, they have been one of the sides building towards...
To be fair to Millwall, they’ve finished in the top 10 pretty consistently across the last few seasons. I wouldn’t say that this season is a total anomaly for them. They had a slight dip finishing 14th last season but they’ve been doing much better than we have since Cooper left. They always...
I think the aim next season should be to break the top 10. It’s something we’ve not managed since Martin. Sides like Millwall, Coventry have improved gradually, increasing their position bit by bit with every transfer window. We need to become a nearly team before we even think about play offs.
That situation is ridiculous, a club who’ve infringed on the rules 115 times and they can’t even be punished? What does that say about the PL itself that they have no power over a club who compete in their own competition? Madness.
I’m no Arsenal supporter but it’s depressing seeing Man City doing well again. The Premier League needs competition or it will just become the Bundesliga. It’s boring seeing the same side winning every season, if City win it this season it will be 5 titles in the last 6 years 😴😴
That table misses out the Derby and West Brom games when he initially came in to be fair. Think we’re actually 10th or 11th since we appointed him. Still a fantastic job done by Matos none the less.
What we need to make sure of next season is adding goals out wide and replacing Vipotnik and his output. I like that we shop abroad because it’s a wider market and you can get players for cheaper, I would never discourage that but it would be nice to see us recruit some attacking players who are...
Genuinely could be a turning point. There’ll be plenty of female coaches that are good enough but wouldn’t have been given the chance due to the way things have always been.
Hope it goes well.
We had a strong starting XI that season but not a whole lot to come off the bench if memory serves. Add to that the fact that Dan James was only discovered in October and had his best form in the final few months. It’s not like we were this incredibly settled side from the off.
I find it interesting how our fans opinions of Potter vary so much. I rate him quite highly, more for what he did with Brighton than down here admittedly. People will say “he failed at Chelsea and West Ham” but both those clubs are proving to be basket cases in their own rights.
He probably...
I know the PL has Squad Cost rules coming in next season where a team can only spend 85% of their revenue, no idea if they’re coming to the Championship any time soon.
Whatever happens in the summer, it would just be nice to be involved at the right end of the table at the end of a season...
I’d be okay with that to be honest as long as it’s just one of them. From our owners perspective and PSR though, I can see them selling the higher value player which at this moment is Vipi.
They really went for it last summer, the players they brought in have to grow in value or we might be...
We should be selling Vipotnik this summer to capitalise on the profit we can make in my opinion. What we shouldn’t do is sell Vipotnik and Galbraith, the sale of one should enable us to keep the other while allowing us to bring in quality for other areas. It’s how Coventry have done what they’ve...
My interpretation is that Matos is just doing what he can with the tools he has. I don’t know if we have enough in the defence and midfield to play triangles and control games at the moment. That’s what I hope anyway. Like Sheehan, he deserves a window to try and build something. I really hope...
Love that result and clean sheet, poor performance and we need to improve our ball retention but I’ll judge Matos on next season after a transfer window. 4pts to equal last seasons tally, we could do it 🤞
