Kemi Badenoch wins Conservative Party leadership contest ...

Of all the right wingers she is the most interesting though. I do think she has something about, I wouldn’t vote for her in a month do Sundays though.

    “They’re all the same”

Small businesses are not impacted in fact they’re benefitting if anything. It’s an analysis I’m not necessarily saying I agree with every measure. But I have tremendous sympathy as the legacy was shocking. My instincts are to support business, but I believe that we do need to put more...

On customs union btw they should say we would like to create a British common market with EU. (Customs union)

    “They’re all the same”

I agree with on Europe but I don’t agree with the timing. It’s got to be drip drip. There’s too many people in this Country who have swallowed the propaganda and need to be taken very slowly in the right direction. I think they should be bold mid term but not now that will look like they’ve...

    “They’re all the same”

That’s why I suggested the customs union, a small step back to sanity

    “They’re all the same”

Reform is essential. The short term increases in NHS have to coupled with dramatic improvements in productivity. That must mean the NHS moving into the 21st Century and whisper it maybe using some of the private sector (oh my heathen) If they’re bold and having the balls to upset the unions in...

    “They’re all the same”

How many times do we hear this tired cliche?! I’ve seen no posts on the budget but it’s pretty obvious to me this was a very different budget to what a Tory Chancellor would have done with a marked change of direction for the Country right or wrong. It’s very much a social democratic budget...

Should the UK pay Commonwealth slavery reparations

It’s called time darling. I don’t have much of it to spend on here. You clearly do,

Should the UK pay Commonwealth slavery reparations

You do have ask the question at what point does the responsibility of the Western Empires for economic underperformance stop? At what point does individual and collective responsibility lie with the sovereign State? It’s unbelievable in this day and age there is not running water in some...

Should the UK pay Commonwealth slavery reparations

The eternal Trot NJ up to his all tricks. How exactly should we pay for this Sir? Will you be happy when we cut the NHS, other public services etc. Oh let me guess tax the rich

Good ol Tommeh. Bless the great unwashed, haven’t got a scooby.

Should the UK pay Commonwealth slavery reparations

Agreed. However, I think FOM in Europe was the answer to this not lots of migration from the commonwealth. The former is economically advantageous, the latter is shown to be more negative in relation to economic output unless very targeted eg NHS staffing.

    Williams out

Correct. As ever many reaching for predictable knee-jerk responses. Given time and backing I think we’ll be okay. Blaming the Managers masks wider issues.

    Working Person

And by the way it’s pretty obvious what they mean by working person. They mean “working class” now where it gets murky is small business owners often are. But it’s quite a traditional ‘gaffer’ and worker thinking. They just can’t say that these days as society has changed so much. Majority of...

Should the UK pay Commonwealth slavery reparations

We kind of already do with the aid budget, which should be a win-win if people thought more deeply about it. More trade = economic improvement. Economic improvement = fewer migrants

    Working Person

Agreed. I’m sure there’ll be some micro changes at the margins that I’ll disagree with but fundamentally they are actually making decisions. The public just won’t accept that sometimes there is pain for long term gain. It’s soul destroying how quick people drift into the “all the same” crap...

    The Welsh Government

2026 is the next Welsh elections. What is Wales to do? I sense an enormous feeling of despondency in the Country with regards the performance of the Welsh Labour Government. But where to turn? We can’t vote reform, yet my fear is that what will happen. Plaid are just Labour lapdogs, the tories...
