    Mike Proctor RIP ...

Back in the seventies I'd hurry home from school knowing there'd be a B&H or Gillette one dayer on telly. I have vague memories of Procter wreaking absolute havoc with his bowling. Bloody fantastic. I only ever saw him play in the flesh once - in a friendly - but he was devastating, making...

    England tour of India 2024

Even at 50/5, chasing a further 500-odd, Bet365 are only offering 200/1. Seems a bit paltry. Not that I'd waste a quid, like.

    England tour of India 2024

Well? Yeah. It's scintillating when it comes off, but sheesh it's tough going otherwise. Like watching a shyte gambler spending a day at Chepstow spunking your inheritance.

Things looked reasonable at lunch. I see India got a five run penalty. Did a helmet get hit?

Woke up in time for the final four minutes of regulation, and enjoyed it. There's so much to admire in this Chiefs team.

British Army veteran will be charged with murder of man and the attempted murder of six others ...

Unless I'm mistaken the Daily Mail could've done a much better job of captioning that story with those particular photos.

It's perhaps a bit weird, I dunno, but I really enjoy low-scoring "battle for every yard" matches. Consequently these showy highlights reels of sensational one-handed catches etc don't move me as much as it moves others. I liken them to sitting through the entirety of The Football League Show...

I'm trying to remember the last time we had a reliable lineout. 1990s?

Wales looking really very ordinary so far. The atmosphere inside the stadium seems quite flat too.

We just watched all three episodes of American Nightmare. We basically stared open-mouthed in disbelief at our telly for three hours. What an extraordinary story. Only in America.

49ers being made to look ordinary so far. I don't know a thing about the Lions but if they can maintain this level they should breeze it.

Newport have a further 12 month option. I'm no expert but he's a staple L2 player. No frills. If Swans ever make a move for him then that ought to strike terror into any fans who want the club to do well at Championship level.

    Sheesh. That was intense.

    Traitors series 2

Final episode tonight. I spend far too much of my life pondering what the faithfuls are thinking. The flaw (I think) in the game is that any faithful worth their salt is going to know there are at least two traitors in the final five.

Heh. I don't think I've ever read a thread on gridiron football where someone hasn't waded in telling everyone they're not into it. I'm almost tempted to start a thread on vegan recipes 😆 And that's not meant personally by the way. I guess it's part of the human condition.

Ah I'm with you. Yes, I'd have liked that, I reckon, but sadly never partook. (There always seemed to be lots of fighting both inside and outside the stadium. It just wasn't pleasant)

    Best content on Freeview

On BBC player I recently watched an episode of Storyville titled "Our Dad the Nazi Killer". We'll all have heard our fill of Nazi atrocities but this has some really revealing angles on what unfolded post-war. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

[I attempted to quote Cooperman's post just above. Dunno why it's not here]. I think that very much depends on the view you have of the pitch. Unfortunately the bleachers at the Oakland Alameda afforded a really crap view. There was little in the way of comms. It really wasn't very [looks...

Sky TV has entered the building, so I was able to watch Kansas v Buffalo. As much as I felt Kansas looked very good, Buffalo's receivers missed numerous golden opportunities to score. I've not seen SF yet. They're my pick by virtue of me having lived there. 😆
