    Offside law

I'd be happy for minor tweaks, such as taking offside from the position of feet alone (chips in the toes of boots could then simplify offside decisions and make them instantaneous). But is there really a problem with lack of goals? Don't see it myself.

    Wrecsam

Based on their current squad that is a fair assessment. But they will strengthen significantly. They should be comfortable mid table as a minimum. It would not surprise me if they bring in a number of eye catching signings that enable them to push for the playoffs. Automatic promotion is...

    Offside law

I disagree. Football isn't basketball. The fact that goals are hard earned is a big part of football's appeal. If you make scoring goals too easy you cheapen the product. Wenger's suggestion makes the defences job near impossible. It will probably result in much deeper defensive lines and a lot...

    Offside law

You literally have to draw the line somewhere. There is something in discounting arms. In fact, simplifying things by only considering the torso might be an improvement. But regardless of the tweaks there will always be lines drawn with VAR, and there will always be highly marginal decisions.

    Offside law

Get rid of offside altogether and you end up with hoofball on steroids. Crazy gang 2.0

    Widell on the scoreboard.

True, but his other stats match up well to his highlights reel. That highlights reel is the most impressive I've seen for a Swansea prospect.

    Offside law

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cvgngqen0jgo Seriously dumb idea. The law as it stands is easy to understand for players and spectators alike. With this amendment how will defenders know where to stand in relation to attackers? I can see players dangling a leg at free kicks to be...

    Age of squad

Sheehan talked recently of the need for experienced players to add balance to the squad. He may well have had O'Brien in mind. Our squad this season has had an average age of 26.3, mid table. Interesting that three of the 4 youngest squads occupy 3 of the top four positions: Sunderland (youngest...

    Widell on the scoreboard.

Definitely worth keeping tabs on. Good stats, but he is playing in the Dutch second tier which is probably league one to two standard. Best in league for aerial challenges and 97th percentile for blocks.

That's a good point. It's not as if there's a Welcome to Birmingham documentary driving all their commercial deals.

    4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3?

Fair point, and you may well be right about the formation. However those attributes also match up in a 4-3-3. Eom may well excel as a 10, but at this point we don't know. However we do know his crossing is excellent, his crossing accuracy of 35.2 per cent is 92nd percentile, in other words up...

    4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3?

Fair enough, exciting would have been a better choice of adjective than formidable at this point in time. My excitement is partly down to Widell's and Inoussa's stats, which are well above average in both cases, but mainly due to their highlights reels. In some cases these can be misleading...

    4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3?

We have definitely lined up at times under Sheehan in a 4-1-4-1 with Fulton or Allen sitting in front of the back 4 with O'Brien and Franco further forward. This has worked well and has allowed us to win the ball further up the pitch. Sheehan may persist with the same formation next season, but...

Any investment from Modric has no bearing on the issue of P & S calculations.

    O’Brien

Data analysis, video analysis, scouting. In that order. Standard practice. It would be negligent to omit any of those three steps.

    O’Brien

If he doesn't want to join another club he's not obliged to do so. He has a lot of say in things. I think it's unlikely he'll resign, but I wouldn't rule it out either.

Interesting. What form do you imagine that will take? Better sponsorship deals? Improved front of shirt deal?

    Finances

Sorry to put a downer on things, but is it just me that's concerned about our Finances? We only escaped breaching P & S regulations this season thanks to the allowable deductions of the academy, women's team and infrastructure costs. We posted a modest profit on player trading of about £4.5...

    Harry Darling …

In 9 games under Sheehan with Darling in the side we've won 7 and drawn 2, away draws against Leeds and Preston. His Fotmob rating was 6.8 in one game, but otherwise was 7.3 up to 8.1. Just 3 goals conceded in those 9 games.
