    Our League form

The problem with Russell Martin was he was wedded to his 'process' until results became so poor that he had no choice but to change things. We'd then go on a great run of results and everyone would get excited, then he'd revert to the sterile possession tactics he loves and we'd be back to...

Charlton Athletic v Swansea City | Highlights

First time I've seen the incident. Having watched the replays on the extended highlights, I do think Eom was looking for contact and planned to go to ground. His touch was awful and he may not have got to the ball anyway. Even so, the referee definitely bottled it. That's either a free kick and...

Are we doing OK or underachieving?

Well if we go on a run under Sheehan like we did under Williams, he will be rightly sacked. I do wonder if some fans are just pinning all their hopes on us making a miraculous managerial appointment who will magically make everything better and get us promoted. Our cycle since Cooper left has...

Are we doing OK or underachieving?

If swapping one coach for another is actually the reason for the difference in the team, that would be damning for Sheehan and for the club in appointing a manager that would be so reliant on his coaches. Thankfully, I doubt that this theory is correct.

Swansea City Fans Lose Faith as Alan Sheehan Faces Growing Pressure Over Poor Form

That 'article' is a pretty pathetic opinion piece at best.

Are we doing OK or underachieving?

Except that's clearly not true. The reason we parted with our previous manager was because of a run of 4 points from 9 games (1 win, 1 draw, 7 defeats) and with us slipping closer to the relegation places. Those games included getting humped 4-0 by Portsmouth, 5-1 by Norwich and a humiliating...

    Our attacking intent

I don't understand how they measure xG (and don't particularly care), but surely Key's chance near the end should have been practically a 1.0 on it's own, as that will surely be a goal most of the time.

If you consider what we've played the last 2 games as a 5-3-2, then my first choice would be: Vig Casey Cabango Burgess Key Tymon Franco/Stamenic Galbraith Widdell Inoussa Vipotnik Yalcouye would probably be Galbraith's back-up in that team, albeit he's a very different player. He'd also...

I'd like to see us play the 5 we did against Man City with the exception of Vip for Idah, so Yalcouye would be on the bench. Having said that, I think he'd play best when we're trying to impose ourselves on the opposition, like we did on Wednesday. I think he suffers from our slow tempo as much...

    Our League form

I agree with that. The only mini-run we've had was after losing on the opening day and then taking 8 points from the next 12, which could have been 10 if we had held out against Hull. The inevitable argument will be if we're not capable of a run of form because of the players or the manager...

There are clearly people in this thread who know a whole lot more about investing than my meagre knowledge on the subject! My simplified understanding of the situation is that I'm not going to lose money from my starting position by investing in savings. Whereas there is the potential, however...

I have to think he wouldn't even be on the bench today if Yalcouye and Stamenic were both available.

Barring Vipotnik for Idah, I think our best starting 11 was on the pitch when Widdell and Inoussa came on. I'd love to see us start that way against Preston.

Vipotnik- even better than we think he is?

Iwan Roberts' standard of punditry would suggest he's clocked they're both Eastern European strikers who are playing/played in the Championship and that was enough of a similarity for him.

Idah's situation at the moment is a little like it was for Gomis when we signed him and kept Bony half a season longer than we expected to. Vipotnik is clearly the better striker at this time and so Idah looks a worse player than he probably is because we're comparing them. I sincerely hope...
