    Sheehan On Borrowed Time?

Agree with that. We need to be fearless and attack.

    Sheehan On Borrowed Time?

I think trying to play that way is exactly what is hurting us. We dominate possession in nearly every game, lots of passes around the back. This isn’t too far removed from Luke or Russ. I’d rather Sheehan ditch this and get back to quick transitions. The Swansea way is nonsense and has been for...

    Sheehan On Borrowed Time?

Widell was signed under Luke in Jan, and even then it’s not 20m. It may never increase from the base amounts as the extras are based on success. If they do increase then it’s because they are good. Southampton have nearly every one of their players costing about that, alone. This league is not...

    Sheehan On Borrowed Time?

Our problem is this ‘Swansea Way’ stuff which is killing us. It doesn’t work anymore, football is cyclical. I think Sheehan has tried to incorporate it into his playing style. Our own mentality holds us back because we are the only club that has to adhere to a style of play that largely doesn’t...

    Sheehan On Borrowed Time?

Where is the talk of 20 million coming from? Inoussa 5m Stamenic reported about 2m Galbraith 1.5m Idah 5m The rest are frees and loans.

    Sheehan On Borrowed Time?

That fit is tactical though rather than forced from personnel. Widell and Cullen are the attacking midfield options. The manager is currently deciding to play two 8’s. Yalcouye being banned for next 3 games will probably allow Widell more game time.

    Sheehan On Borrowed Time?

That would be extreme revisionism. Our early season form doesn’t take away how good the window was, we have depth and quality in all areas now.

Alan Sheehan on QPR | Press Conference

He can only talk about what happened, sounds like he recognises the same problems we are seeing.

    Tonight's football

It’s almost like it’s been manufactured… It’s clear there are agitators about, some with a motive. Drama is craved either way, if it can’t be immediate success then immediate failure is the next best thing.

    Bobby Wales

Wales wasn’t bought for the first team though was he? I always assumed he was a development one behind Cullen and Vipotnik.

    Alan Sheehan.

To put it into context. Harwood Bellis who played today cost that alone.

I don’t think it’s realistic to ‘expect’ more than a mid table. We will have a chance to finish higher but investing in a single window in an undercooked side doesn’t automatically turn us into a playoff team. They will also know this.

    Alan Sheehan.

We have no divine right to top 6. We were a relegation threatened team under Luke Williams and also under Duff, potentially also under Russell barring a late flurry of results. Our summer recruitment has elevated us from relegation candidates to a solid mid table team. It’s going to take...

    Widell

He’s not a championship 8, he doesn’t have the defensive side of his game. He would most certainly have been brought in as that 10 under Luke, the Cullen role. He’s clearly an excellent player though, you don’t get called up for Sweden if you aren’t. I think it’s a matter of being patient with...

    Marko Stamenic

Stamenic is a Rolls Royce #6, no question about it. Was clearly affected by his injury in recent games but looks like he’s back and firing

The bigging up of Ethan Galbraith

The exciting thing for us is we were after him in January long before the hype train. If we can spot someone like that playing right back earlier than others, then who else can we spot!

    Widell

Widell was signed under a Williams regime where he played a 10, Cullen usually. We play two 8’s under Sheehan.

    Less entitlement and more encouragement

I have zero doubt we will be seeing Widell this season once he gets up to speed. Players take different amounts of time.

    Less entitlement and more encouragement

With strength and conditioning coaches would be my guess. He’s far too good to be playing U-23 football and will be shocked if he ever does. Inoussa plays a different position than Melker, you can be a bit lightweight as a winger, in the middle it’s a different ball game.

    Less entitlement and more encouragement

Widell hasn’t been sent to the U23’s has he? I’ve not seen that anywhere. I don’t think anyone expected Wales to come here and be a starter, I didn’t anyway. He’s a project.
