The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread

Been so disappointed with him I thought he would have kicked on when Sheehan went but he's been worse tbh.

Come on he's had a bad 6 months but he's always been a steady championship RB before that.

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread

The only logic I can think is that we are selling Santos for ≈200k and are just bringing Ward in as a 4th Choice CB not as a backup RB. If that's the thinking I can understand it. Otherwise its a huge no from me.

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread

He hasn't even actually played RB in donkey years aswell. He was used in his brief appearances as a RCB in a 3. So the logic that he could cover RB doesn't even make sense other then he used to play there 9+years ago.

Same as Santos this summer and Bolasie the year before that. There's not a single justification for this signing.

We gotta hope Key gets back to an acceptable level of performances and he can slot back into rb then.

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread

The more I look at it the less and less it makes even a little bit of sense. The last time Ward completed a full 90 was 1 year and 8 months ago and he only played 83 minutes of football last season. So to think he's come in and be match fit by even March is a crazy. Even in the 23/24 season...

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread

Doesn't that just support calling Lissah back even more? His wages i bet is less then what Wards would be and he can cover CB aswell. Not to mention he probably is a better player then what Ward is now. If we were going after a proper RB I would be more inclined to leave Lissah there but if...

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread

I'll be honest I haven't watched a single Falkirk game so I'm just basing this on the rave reviews he's getting over there but wouldn't it just be better to call back Lissah and use him as a RB then sign 36yr old Joel Ward?

    Interesting Graham Potter Interview

Goes very under the radar that does and its always suprised me how it isn't talked about as our worst window in years. 4mill on Celina 2mill on Asoro 1mill on McKay 1mill on Declan John. Its worse then the summer window we had under Paul Watson and that is saying something.

Doubt it I remember Saints having 10+mill bids rejected in the summer.

Romain Esse to Coventry. Does that leave us open to get Rak-Saki who was recalled by Palace today?

What are we really expecting from Matos....

I remember in Montagues first interview at the club he said success is measured by overperforming where should be in the league in terms of budget/wages. Your right I'd estimate us to be anywhere from 9th-14th budget/wage wise. However I dont see us finishing as high as that this season so in...

What are we really expecting from Matos....

The only player (attacker) which has disappointed me since Matos has come in is Inoussa I really thought he'd kick on by now but he rightly finds himself on the bench majority of the time. As for our attackers I'm not that suprised by. Eom has always been a streaky player and that has continued...

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Millwall 2 Swansea 1 | Att: 14,242 | 04/01/26 | The EFL Championship | The Den

I agree about Samuel Smith not being up to the level I've been really disappointed considering how good Chelseas academy usually is but realistically who do we get in that would happily sit on the bench for 6months? it also just isn't a major priority atm imo. Thought Wales should have come on...

For sure but once you get to that point you cannot let it slip. If anything being smashed like that should give you more motivation to hold out for the point.
