This is the dream, I don’t think we could afford his left eyebrow though sadly.

Can’t see it on Oddschecker, welcome back Martin!😂

Not as opposed as some on these boards but it’s not the right appointment for me, call it a gut feeling. We’re not equipped to play that way.

    Martin - please god, NO!!

I’d be shocked if they go for Martin. For two reasons: 1. He doesn’t suit our current squad options, can you really see Vigs, Burge and Cabango playing it around a high press? Gorringe will need to take that into account. 2. Sheehan turned out to be a bad appointment, they won’t want even a...

I’m not 100% sure about that. Looks as if it’s been hijacked at the last second. Not the fault of the owners in this case. In fact, if we’d have appointed him, which looked to be happening until this morning, we’d have been the quickest out of us, Norwich, Southampton and Boro to make an...

Wonder who we look at now? If Boro get Hellberg, that still leaves Norwich and Southampton to compete with. What’s Alan Sheehan up to these days?!

Coleman now reporting Boro news. Looking like we’re not going to have someone in for Bristol. I’m a bit surprised because I don’t see Hellberg as a Boro type appointment, he’s nothing like Rob Edwards from what I’ve seen and read. The thing I’m not surprised at is a side that are higher up in...

Reports in Swedish media saying Hellberg to Boro now. Not sure what to believe, betting suspended on Swans manager last night so looks like something could be happening?

Last I saw it was looking like Southampton were going to appoint their interim. Also doesn’t feel like a Boro type appointment to me and I haven’t seen them linked. Norwich are probably the most likely to rival us but according to that Norwich journalist, he doesn’t sound like a serious...

I’m with you on that, I think he probably understood us appointing Sheehan seeing as he was doing well and was already at the club. Also, jobs in the Championship are highly valued and I don’t think a manager wanting to progress his career would be too precious about a rejection.

Looking at Hellberg from a Norwich perspective, although it suits their usual style of appointment, it is an even bigger risk for them than it is for us. They have absolutely no room for developing a more extreme or niche style of play at the moment. I think they’ll end up going with Tomasson...

Yeah, I don’t see this as a controversial statement. Matos is in his first job in management as far as I can tell. As much as I don’t think Martin suits our current squad, at least he would have experience behind him. I’m not sure we should gamble on a completely fresh face. Hellberg may be...

So what is the actual state of play? Rumblings that Hellberg is in Norwich which we all would have expected anyway. Doesn’t sound like anything has changed from yesterday or the day before really. I’d be very surprised if they went for Martin.

I’m not Martin’s biggest detractor, but I don’t see his extreme methods being suited to a pairing of Cabango and Burgess. I’m not sure Vigs would be 100% comfortable playing in the way Martin asks of his goalkeepers either.

If he really wants to manage in English Football, he’ll take one of the 4 jobs available in The Championship at the moment. A strange situation where we are arguably the least attractive job open at the minute. Rare that you’d see good quality jobs like Southampton, Norwich and Boro all up for...

    Martin - please god, NO!!

I do think he could do a better job here with the resources we now have but I wouldn’t want him back. I think it’s better to move forward. If you ask me, the level of intensity with which he is liked and disliked is confusing. We were a mid-table side who played some decent stuff, but didn’t...

A few said his attacking numbers were excellent but not the defence. I have heard though that Norwich didn’t have the best defenders that season. Will Still is another that I think will succeed elsewhere.

Posted this in another thread but I think for every example of a failure there is one of success. Le Bris, Wagner, Farke, all names that most of their respective fanbase wouldn’t have been familiar with but went on to find success. It’s a gamble whoever we appoint for me.
