Big game in our group on Friday night as well, Belgium home to North Macedonia. I guess a draw would be the best outcome for us as if we want to win the group then we need Belgium to drop points somewhere. That does mean we would need to beat NM in the final home game to get second place though...

    Less entitlement and more encouragement

I think it was Gareth Phillips’ book that summed up our history as 40 years as a second division side only interrupted by Adolf Hitler, followed by 40 years as a 3rd & 4th division team interrupted only by John Toshack.

    Another gutless performance

That was like the Russell Martin special. We'd pass it around at the back, invite the pressure and look like we were about to give the ball away in our own box, then we'd manage to work an intricate passing move together to get the ball out to a winger with a chance to attack but instead of...

    Stamenic

Williams was doing absolutely fine until Christmas last year. If we’re in a similar position again then we’ll be solidly in mid table and that would be completely acceptable. We probably wouldn’t be a very exciting season, but not something to be turfing the manager out for.

    Another gutless performance

What do you mean the hardest first set of matches? Compared to who? We’ve played four top half teams and five bottom half, including the teams in 21st, 23rd & 24th. I also have no idea what you mean about consistent goalscorers? Were Piroe, McBurnie & Bony not then?

9 games played, 3 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats. Exactly the same record we had this time last season. Our squad definitely has more depth than we did this time last year but not convinced we're good enough to challenge for the top 6.

Didn't think it was a pen at first glance but on the replay Galbraith does get there first and the defender takes him out. Mostly don't see those given without var but I'll take it.

Eom's got some skill but I'm not convinced he's a winger. Might be worth a go at #3 at some point.

Agree with the suggestions of needing someone playing as more of a 10 than we’ve had recently. Cullen maybe deserves a go there after his goal last night but also happy for it to be Yalcouye. I would also prefer Franco & Galbraith as the midfield 2, think they give us more going forward than...

Out of nowhere! Tymon again is our best creator, great finish from Franco too.

The goal might not have been his fault but that’s two really simple mistakes in a row from Key attacking there. A shame we don’t have any competition at RB because we could definitely do with a change there.

Just looked at our record at Blackburn, surprised how bad we've been there overall - 2 wins, 5 draws and 17 defeats in the league, including losing on our first 11 visits! I do agree, they're all good players individually, but I think we're missing someone who can do the Dobbie/Sigurdsson role...

Haven't seen a replay yet but it's only not a red card if there's an attempt to play the ball. Pulling someone back definitely isn't an attempt to play the ball so still a red card for this one.

Carabao Cup Fourth Round - Swansea City v Manchester City

Fourth time we've played them in a cup in the last 10 years yeah, all at home as well. We were still a Prem team for the first one in the League Cup 2016, then the infamous FA Cup robbery and another one during Covid where we got easily turned over.

Carabao Cup Fourth Round - Swansea City v Manchester City

Man City are at Villa on the previous Sunday so this looks likely to be on the Wednesday night again.

Will take Spurs, Everton or Brentford away (new grounds) or someone like Liverpool or Man City at home would be great. Grimsby home would be ideal as well. Probably end up getting something rubbish like Burnley away.
